The CALLANETICS®

exercise techniques develop the deep, intrinsic muscles that support the posture and back. These exercises are well known because of their success in rapidly reshaping women's bodies as well as helping people with back problems. Falun Dafa

(Falun Gong) is a traditional Chinese self-cultivation practice that improves mental and physical wellness through a series of easy to learn exercises, meditation and development of one's "Mind/Heart Nature". The practice is based on the universal principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Classes are organized by volunteers and free of charge to the public. Gentle Yoga for People with M.S.

Level 1 is designed for individuals who are new to yoga and/or those needing additional time or instruction (ideal for limited mobility). Taught by Amy Duncan
Level 2 is designed for people with prior yoga experience (ideal for good to moderate mobility). Taught by Cindy Irvine.
Hatha Yoga aims at building a foundation for students seeking relaxation while building physical and mental strength. The class format is furnished in the Iyengar tradition, focusing on the alignment of body, mind and spirit throughout the practice of meditation, postures and breath. Taught by Roberto Astorga.

Tai Chi Beginners Class- Beginning September 14th!

Practicing this ancient gentle form of movement and mental concentration brings personal satisfaction, and wonderful health and wellness benefits. Learn the basic Tai Chi form in a relaxed, down to earth setting. Dr. Strasser brings his experience as a chiropractor to this ongoing beginners class. Taught by Arn Strasser

Yoga for Kids with all Abilities

An inviting space allows each child to experience his/her fullness of being. Through chanting (singing), breathing exercises, asanas (yoga postures), and deep relaxation each child will enjoy getting to know their bodies in creative and fun ways. No yoga experience is necessary. Taught by Mary Williams.

Teacher Bios


Amy Duncan

has been teaching since 2002 throughout the Portland area. She has specialized in Gentle Yoga for people with MS for the past 3 years. She completed her training with Julie Lawerence. Her focus is on correct alignment in each pose and opening the body to its full potential.

Cindy Irvine

has been teaching yoga for people with MS since 2001. She emphasizes careful alignment and gentle work with the mind, breath and body to prevent injury and maximize health benefits. She teaches yoga as a life philosophy of honoring and celebrating oneself while having compassion for your limitation.

Judy Mooser

has taught CALLANETICS® classes for over 17 years and is an International Master Trainer. Her teaching style includes working individually with each student in class, adapting each position to that student's body type and flexibility. A large percentage of Judy's students are referred by Chiropractors.

Arn Strasser

is a Portland chiropractor and student of Tai Chi. He studied with Carolyn Talmadge a Tai Chi Master in the Bay Area. For more information on Dr. Strasser, please visit drstrasser.com.

Mary K. Williams

has worked as an occupational therapist with babies, children and teens for over 30 years. Yoga has been an integral part of her life since 1980 and she began teaching yoga to children of all abilities after she took Yoga for the Special Child, LLC with Sonia Sumar. She has taken many children's yoga workshops and uses her broad knowledge to meet the unique needs of each student.
