Falun Dafa
(Falun Gong) is a traditional Chinese self-cultivation practice that improves mental and physical wellness through a series of easy to learn exercises, meditation and development of one's "Mind/Heart Nature". The practice is based on the universal principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Classes are organized by volunteers and free of charge to the public. Level 1 is designed for individuals who are new to yoga and/or those needing additional time or instruction (ideal for limited mobility). Taught by Amy DuncanLevel 2 is designed for people with prior yoga experience (ideal for good to moderate mobility). Taught by Cindy Irvine.
Hatha Yoga aims at building a foundation for students seeking relaxation while building physical and mental strength. The class format is furnished in the Iyengar tradition, focusing on the alignment of body, mind and spirit throughout the practice of meditation, postures and breath. Taught by Roberto Astorga.
Tai Chi Beginners Class- Beginning September 14th!
Practicing this ancient gentle form of movement and mental concentration brings personal satisfaction, and wonderful health and wellness benefits. Learn the basic Tai Chi form in a relaxed, down to earth setting. Dr. Strasser brings his experience as a chiropractor to this ongoing beginners class. An inviting space allows each child to experience his/her fullness of being. Through chanting (singing), breathing exercises, asanas (yoga postures), and deep relaxation each child will enjoy getting to know their bodies in creative and fun ways.
