  Behind the Rind Parmigiano Reggiano

  12 pm FREE

   Whole Foods Market salutes Parmigiano Reggiano each year because it is truly one of the incomparable cheeses of the world.  What makes Parmigiano Reggiano special at Whole Foods Market is that that we hand select the cheese in every year from just 4 producers, and it's a two-year-aged product, giving it a much richer flavor.

  At 12 pm WFM will crack open a wheel of hand-selected Parmigiano Reggiano to share with all. We will demonstrate the ancient art of cracking open the Parmigiano Reggiano to honor the tradition and celebration behind the king of all cheeses. There is a centuries-old art to opening the cheese wheel so that the internal crystalline structure with its characteristic crumbly texture is left fully intact. By cracking into hundreds of 85-pound wheels at the same time, we hope to break our own record of 300!

• Scrip

  We are pleased to announce the return of Scrip! One of our company's core values is to give back 5% of our net profits to our communities. Since many groups told us that scrip is the best way for them to raise much-needed funds for their programs, we are reinstating the program as a service to our local non-profit organizations and schools.

If your organization was actively ordering scrip on a regular basis from us, there is no need to fill out any paperwork. We look forward to working with your organizations through this program as this is a great way to raise money regularly for your favorite school or organization!

  Want to schedule a tour for your school or group? We offer tours of our store, and can focus on specific areas of study, health or interest. Just let us know! Call us at (818) 548-3695 and ask for the Marketing Dept. Tours must be scheduled well in advance and last approx. 2 hours unless otherwise requested.
