Community Giving

At Whole Foods Market, we are active participants in our community. We are extremely proud of our community involvement and the relationships that we continue to make each month! We strive to make a difference.

Our Community 5% Days are one meaningful way we give back to our community. On designated days throughout the year a total of 5% of the day's net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations. Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these 5% Days.

One Dime at a Time Program

Whole Foods Market gives 10 cents per bag to customers who re-use their own shopping bags for their purchased groceries. This program reduces our impact on the environment and now supports local non profit groups. Customers will have the choice to accept their cash refund, or donate the cash back to the store's chosen non profit organization.

Reading Tree

Reading Tree

Do you have used children’s books?

Reading Tree is a non profit organization with a mission to provide children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own books. They provide an ongoing source of books to children in disadvantaged areas, schools, hospitals, Boys & Girls Clubs, family literacy programs, and international libraries. Over one million books have been given to kids in 2008. Reading Tree has saved more than 45 million books from going into landfills. For more information, visit www.readingtree.org
