Events

We offer an assortment of classes and events for all ages. If an event requires pre-registration, we ask that you sign up at least 2 days in advance at our Customer Service desk or by calling 215.481.0800. Seating is limited and we can only guarantee seating for those who have signed up in advance. We hope to see you in the classroom!

  Half Pints: Bananas!

  5 p.m. Cost: $5

  Bananas are delicious any time of year but there's something about this sweet, versatile fruit that conjures up thoughts of spring! In this class kids will go bananas over our no-bake banana cream pies. Each child will create their own delicious pie to take home or enjoy here. This is an activity your kids are sure to want to try again at home!

  HappyFamily Preschooler Cooking: Dirt Desserts

  Looking for a healthier version of the classic Dirt Dessert recipe that kids love? Then we have a great alternative that kids and parents will LOVE....you can serve this at the next kids party and everyone will be pleased!!! A story and craft will also be included.

  5% Giving Day: Metropolitan Ballet Academy

  all day

  Join us as we welcome Metropolitan Ballet Academy, a local non-profit organization dedicated to the arts. The academy uses lessons in Classical Ballet technique combined with exercises designed to foster musical awareness. Within a positive and encouraging atmosphere, children are taught to develop their unique artistic qualities. On this special day we will donate 5% of our sales to Metropolitan Ballet Academy's dance program.

  Community Recycling Day

  9 a.m. - 7 p.m. Cost: Free

  Bring your clean #1-#7 plastics for recycling. No Styrofoam, please.

• Tuesday, April 13th

  Blood Drive

  11 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Cost: Priceless!

  Sign up for your time slot at Customer Service or by calling 215-481-0800. Walk-ins are also welcome. All donors receive a free goodie bag loaded with all-natural treats.

  It is important to remember that blood cannot be manufactured... the only source is you - the volunteer blood donor. When you give blood, you are doing one of the most amazing things anyone can dream of - saving a life.

  Your blood donation is very important to the health and welfare of hospital patients in our area, as the need for blood is never ending. Blood products play a vital role in saving the lives of:

  • Premature infants
  • Accident / trauma victims
  • Cardiac patients
  • Individuals undergoing chemotherapy for cancer or leukemia
  • Burn victims
  • Surgical patients
  • Hospital patients undergoing an organ or bone marrow transplant
  • Individuals suffering from aplastic or sickle cell anemia

  Although you may never know the recipient(s) of your blood donation, you can be assured that they and their families are extremely grateful.

• Saturday, April 17th

  Community e-Cycling Day

  10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Cost: Free

  Recognize Earth Day by keeping computers, telephones, printers, and other devices from clogging up our landfills and releasing toxic chemicals into the soil and waterways. Bring them to us for recycling! (Limit 5 pieces per household.)

  List of Acceptable Items:

  • Desktop computers, keyboards and mice
  • Laptop computers
  • Mainframe computer systems
  • Cathode Ray Tubes (CRTs) and monitors
  • Modems and telephone boards
  • Hard drives, floppy drives and CD ROMs
  • Phones, fax machines and telecommunications hardware
  • Printers
  • Computer boards, CPUs and memory chips, circuit boards
  • Connecting wires and cables
    (TVs are not accepted.)

  Meet DV Earth Force

  11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

  Representatives from Delaware Valley Earth Force will join us to talk about their important environmental youth outreach program. DV Earth Force is part of this month's Nickels for Non-Profits fundraising program and you can donate to this amazing group every time you reuse a bag!   5% Giving Day

  On this special Earth Day 5% Day we will donate 5% of our sales to a local non-profit organization dedicated to helping the planet. Join us to learn more about what you can do to make a difference.

  All kids love pizza, so why not use their favorite food to get some fruits and veggies into their diets? Trina from HappyBaby will help your little ones fashion their own fruit pizza followed by a book and craft.

Class Cancelations

We require a minimum of 5 people signed up in advance for each class. If the minimum is not achieved at least 24 hours before the scheduled start of the class, we may cancel. Please be sure to leave your phone number at the time of registration so we may notify you of any cancellations.
