Giving Back to Our Community

Community 5% Days

Our Community Support Days are one meaningful way that we give back to our community.  On designated days throughout the year, a total of 5% of the day's net sales are donated to selected local non-profit organizations.  Customers help support our selected organizations by simply shopping on these 5% days.

Reduce, Reuse, Reward Program

This program rewards our customers who bring and use their own bags, by giving them a 5 cent deduction from their total bill.  We support local non-profit organizations through this program by offering our customers the option of electing to donate their 5 cent rebate.  The donations are then given to the organizations registered as recipients.  These organizations change quarterly.  To obtain more information about the Reduce, Reuse, Reward program, please email to the above email address.

Field Trips, General Store Tours & Education

Are you looking for a fun and delicious, yet educational field trip for your students?  Are you interested in finding out what goes on 'Behind the Scenes' at Whole Foods Market La Jolla?  If your school or organization would like a tour of Whole Foods Market La Jolla, our Marketing Team would be happy to accommodate you. Tours can be arranged for various group sizes, and can range in time from 30 minutes to 60 minutes.  Store tours are an opportunity to learn more about natural and organic foods and what makes our store different from the rest. General Donation Requests

In order to be considered for a donation from Whole Foods Market La Jolla, your organization must have a 501 C (3) designation from the IRS stating that you are a non-profit organization.  Please submit this letter/form with your donation request.

Without this letter/form we cannot process your request. This letter will show your Tax I.D. number.

Follow these guidelines regarding a donation request.

1. Attach a copy of the IRS 501 C (3) Authorization Letter, mentioned in the first paragraph. This letter can usually be obtained from your admin or bookkeeping department.
2. Please make your request at least three to four weeks prior to the date of the event or the date that the donation is needed.
3. Written requests should be sent or faxed to my attention or left at the Customer Service or Concierge Booth. Please indicate on all faxes or written material: Attn: Kari in Marketing. Requests may also be emailed to the above email address.
4. Please submit a written request on the official letterhead stationary of your organization or group.  This request MUST include the following:

• What event the donation request is for?
• Where & what date will the event take place?
• What are the name(s), phone number(s), and email address(s) of the contact person(s)?
• What you would like donated? (a gift card, a gift basket, or product)
• What recognition can you give Whole Foods Market for assisting in your fund raising efforts?

Please note that we obtain a very large amount of requests and we do not have a budget to address all of them.  Once we have received your paper work and reviewed your request, we will get back to you to obtain any other needed information or to move ahead with the donation process.  Thank you for your understanding.
