Wednesday, March 10th
Taste & Travel Series with REI & Chicago Hostelling International: France
6:30pm-9:00pm $15.00 per person (Each attendee will receive a $5.00 Whole Foods Market Gift Card)
Craving international travel or at least some delicious international cuisine? Join us for this worldly discussion of regional travel and food. We will explore France at the new REI-Lincoln Park on Halsted and then travel to the even newer Whole Foods Market, just a block away on Kingsbury. The evening begins at REI with a slide show and firsthand accounts from experienced travelers from Hostelling International Chicago. The discussion continues at Whole Foods Market as we taste cuisine from that country and share our travel secrets. Raise a toast to travel with a glass of wine and sample the country's cuisine prepared by a Whole Foods Market Chicago chef.

Culinary Theater: Backstage Pass
6:30 pm - 8:30 pm $40/person or $75/couple

This Friday, step into our kitchen and inside the mind of a chef as you enjoy an incredible meal, lively conversation and new friends. You have an all-access backstage pass to the culinary theater as the meal goes from concept to reality and onto your plate. Sit back, sip a glass of wine, and enjoy the show as Chef Dawn whips up a delicious, spontaneous meal created especially for the evening's guests and inspired by the fresh, seasonal, exotic, and unique ingredients only Whole Foods Market can offer. Come with an empty stomach and an open palate, ready to taste new culinary innovations. Chat with Chef Dawn as she explains her inspiration for the evening's meal and answers any burning culinary questions. Menu tbd. Cooking for Health: Healthy Hearty Vegetarian
12:00 pm - 2:00 pm $30 (demonstration, taste portions, registration required)
Vegetables and whole grains take center stage in this healthy vegetarian cooking class. Chef Dawn will show you how delicious and satisfying vegetarian cooking can be with this tasting menu: Tuscan white bean and kale soup, roasted beet carpaccio with mint vinaigrette, roasted vegetable pasta primavera with lemon-ricotta sauce, quinoa-stuffed mushrooms.

Couples in the Kitchen: Southern Supper
6:30 pm - 8:30 pm $135/couple (hands-on, full meal, beer/wine included, registration required)
Shake things up this Friday and take your date out for an evening that will really get things cooking or spend the evening cooking, eating, laughing and learning with your best friend, sister, or mom. Either way, you'll have a great time creating this soul-satisfying southern meal together: cheddar-chive cornbread, crispy okra salad with hot Andouille dressing, oven-fried chicken, seafood pot pie, pineapple upside-down cake.

Cooking for Health: Love your Heart

It’s been proven that a healthy diet along with exercise can fend off heart disease but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice flavor. In this class, Chef Dawn will demonstrate simple heart healthy recipes and share tips for menu planning and recipe modifications. Take care of your ticker and tempt your taste buds with these tantalizing tastes: smoky guacamole, orange-glazed wild salmon, toasted barley and charred corn salad, raspberry dark chocolate chip sorbet.

Healthy & Fast Cooking Class with Monique Deschaine of Al Dente Pasta
6:30pm-8:30pm $10.00 per person (All proceeds will be donated to the Whole Planet Foundation)
Join local vendor, Monique Deschaine, founder of Al Dente Pasta, and watch her perform Pasta Magic. See with your own eyes, the recipes she pulls out of her hat to create healthy soups, appetizers and pasta dishes. No mirrors, no tricks, just Al Dente Pasta, Monique's Sauce and lots of other healthy ingredients. Every dish has invention, creativity and resourcefulness at its heart. And, because Al Dente is all about using their noodles for positive change, ticket proceeds will be donated to the Whole Planet Foundation, supporting entrepreneurs around the world through microcredit. Come cook with her and let the fun begin!
