The Whole Foods Market Veterans Team Members thank you for raising over $4,500 for the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter, Animal Rescue New Orleans, and LA SPCA! Each organization will receive over $1,500 and the funds will be solely dedicated to sheltering.

In addition, you contributed over 400 pounds of food in our pet food drive! The Grocery Team will match all 365 pet food so the shelters will receive even more. Again, we are very proud and thankful for your participation.

The Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter operates the two parish animal shelters in East Jefferson and Marrero and holds lost animals for reclaim, homeless animals for adoption, and quarantines dogs and cats that have bitten. The shelter accepts all animals turned over to them.

 Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO) is an organization created and dedicated to the rescue and aid of abandoned and homeless animals in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana and Mississippi, including responding to the immediate needs of animals requiring medical care or that have been neglected, abused and deprived of love. ARNO promotes the foster, adoption, and reunion of pets with caretakers, as well as spaying/neutering of all companion animals.

The Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LA SPCA) is an organization devoted to improving the lives of animals and eliminating the homelessness, neglect, and abuse that signal animal suffering. Chartered in 1888, their history has been paved with an understanding that only through an improved human-animal ethic can we better the lives of companion animals and that of our community. Their programs and services are infused with the highest standards of care and compassion.
