Community Giving

Whole Foods Market Metcalf, is an active participant in our community. We are extremely proud of our community involvement and the relationships that we continue to make each month! We strive to make a difference.

Our Community 5% Days are one meaningful way we give back to our community. On designated days throughout the year a total of 5% of the day's net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations. Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these 5% Days.

Whole Foods Market, Metcalf is partnering with Local Artist, Jeff Hanson to benefit Harvesters and support the Checkout Hunger Campaign, www.harvesters.org. Thursday, November 5 is designated as Community Giving Day, at Whole Foods Market on Metcalf when Harvesters will receive 5 percent of the store's total pre-tax sales and Jeff Hanson is gifting Harvesters with a donation from the sale of his paintings, note cards and note pads on display at Whole Food Market, Metcalf.

 Whole Foods Market's Community Giving Day is a giving program dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations in the store's own communities that have limited budgets but big goals.  Shoppers can help raise funds for Harvesters simply by shopping at Whole Foods Market, Metcalf that day. 

To boost the impact of this Community Giving Day, Whole Foods Market, Metcalf is hosting its annual "Taste of the Holidays" event from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. November 5.  The Taste of the Holidays is a formal holiday food sampling open to the public designed to help inspire shoppers with unique holiday meal recipes, cooking tips, ways to save and simple holiday meal planning.

Jeff Hanson is 16-years old and his art is already internationally known.  Through the sale of his original paintings and paper products, Jeff has generated over $125,000 in donations to local, national and international charities.  Jeff's mission is to help create kinder communities, more compassionate nations and a better world for all."  Jeff's artwork will be displayed at Whole Foods Market, Metcalf through December 31, 2009.  www.jeffreyowenhanson.com

Donations 

Each Whole Foods Market store has a monthly budget designated for the donation of food or funds to local not-for-profit organizations. A Donation Request Form is required and forms are available at our Customer Service counter. Requests must be received 6 weeks prior to the date of the event and submitted in person at Customer Service. If you have missed the deadline, please consider us for your organizations future donations.
