Community Giving Day and Taste of the Holidays

Help raise funds for Harvesters by joining us for Community Giving Day and the Taste of the Holidays event!
Whole Foods Market, Metcalf is partnering with Local Artist, Jeff Hanson to benefit Harvesters. Thursday, November 5 is designated as Community Giving Day, at Whole Foods Market on Metcalf when Harvesters will receive 5 percent of the store's total pre-tax sales and Jeff Hanson is gifting Harvesters with a donation from the sale of his paintings, note cards and note pads on display at Whole Food Market, Metcalf. Shoppers can help raise funds for Harvesters simply by shopping at Whole Foods Market, Metcalf that day.
To boost the impact of this Community Giving Day, Whole Foods Market, Metcalf is hosting its annual "Taste of the Holidays" event from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. November 5. The Taste of the Holidays is a formal holiday food sampling open to the public designed to help inspire shoppers with unique holiday meal recipes, cooking tips, ways to save and simple holiday meal planning.

This is the only place in Kansas City offering 100% natural in-house smoked meats. Come in Mondays for chicken, Tuesdays and Fridays for brisket and BBQ beans, Wednesday and Saturday for Salmon, Thursdays for Turkey, and on Sundays come for chicken and turkey. Our smokehouse meats melt in your mouth like you wouldn't believe! Make your party an instant success.

Back by popular demand! Dine-in or carry-out a hot lunch that can't be beat on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11am-1pm. There's always something good cooking at the Cooking Studio*. Stay tuned for a preview of what we're serving up on Thursday. (Lunch ranges from $4.99-$8.99.)

What's Cooking at the Cooking Studio? Tuesday 10/27 from 11am-1pm we're serving-up your choice of either "Chunky Chicken Chili" or Vegan Black Bean Soup w/ Half Grilled Veg Sandwich and a drink for $6.99. Then on Thursday from 11am-1pm, get ready for Halloween with Chili Dogs made with all beef hot dogs, served on Rudis Hoagie Buns with a side of Old Fashioned Coleslaw plus the standard condiments diced onion, grated cheddar cheese and dill pickles for only $6.99.

At Whole Foods Market we are Wild about Food and we are even Wilder about Sharing It with You! Join us every Wednesday afternoon for a wild sampling of our "Good Stuff for Less Items". We'll have a special Mexican Fiesta sampling on the 16th and Breakfast for Dinner on the 23rd.

Our produce department invites you to enjoy the bounty of the fall harvest and will feature such items as caramel dipped apples, seasonal squash, and more. On the 15th we'll have a special "What apple are you?" tasting event.

Now on Fridays! At Whole Foods Market we receive fresh seafood 6 days a week. Steve selects a favorite dish to spotlight and sample. Try something new, ask questions, and get great ideas for planning your meals.

Each Whole Foods Market store has a monthly budget designated for a donation to local not-for-profit organizations. A Donation Request Form is required (along with a copy of your 501c3 letter from the IRS) and forms are available at our customer service counter or by visiting our Community Giving web page. Requests must be received 6 weeks prior to the date of your event. If you have missed the deadline, please consider us for future donations. Thank you!
Small Change Adds Up
Bring your own reusable bag...Receive 10 cents off your purchase or we will donate your 10 cents to a local school. Since October 21, 2007, your reusable bags have raised over $850.00 for our local schools and saved 8,500 bags from reaching our land fill.
Free Educational Store Tours
Whole Foods Market offers free store tours. Groups of Brownies, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, students, and professional groups, etc. are all welcome to sign up. On your tour, you will learn why Whole Foods Market is so unique! You will also learn about natural and organic foods and get to taste many items throughout the store. Bring Your Own Bag - Help Save Your Own Planet
Whole Foods Market eliminated disposable plastic grocery bags on Earth Day 2008! Help us in our mission to be kind to the environment by reusing your bags. Remember, we will pay you 10 cents for every bag you reuse!
