Friends, families and communities will unite for a 7 or 10 mile walk ( 2route options) beginning and ending at St. Joan of Arc Church. Those participating will be fully supported in a safe and leisurely route that includes our beautiful Minnesota lakes and parkways. Lots of fun and rest stops along the way with a awe-inspiring closing ceremony. In this class, you will explore the different varieties and "classes" of tomatoes, learn how to oven dry your own tomatoes, make your own pesto and sample three appetizing snacks. But wait, there's more. Using fresh mozzarella curd from our specialty department, you will also learn how to make your own fresh mozzarella to enjoy alongside our fresh seasonal tomatoes, and take home your results! Sushi, the original Japanese fast food, is not just found at your local sushi bar, or sushi-ya. Become your own itamae, or sushi master, in this fun hands-on class. You will learn about the history of sushi, go over sushi jargon and etiquette and how to select your ingredients. Chef Ani will show you how to make maki, or rolls, and nigiri, little ovals of rice with fish or vegetables on top and then you'll jump in and make your own with a selection of fresh seafood, vegetables, even fruit. Bread Baking 101: The Quick and the Bread

The fantastic world of bread can be divided more or less into two groups: yeast breads and non-yeast breads. In this baking primer, you will learn about non-yeast breads or "quickbreads": breads that are risen by non-yeast ingredients such as baking powder or buttermilk. You'll learn all about popular quickbreads and how to work with their ingredients, then roll up your sleeves and dive in! You will also be taking some of your creations home. Is your child a budding chef? Whole Kids Club classes are a unique way for children to explore new foods in a fun and creative environment. Each class will be designed for a specific age group. Participants will learn about different foods, cooking utensils, and the importance of good eating habits. At the end of the class, each child will be able to take home his/her creation and the recipe to share with the family. Please sign up at the Customer Service Desk. The sign up deadline is two days before the class is scheduled. Class dates are subject to change or cancellation based on number of attendees.
