Whole Foods Market Napa Culinary Center is a premier hands-on culinary learning facility in the heart of the Napa Valley. We offer a wide variety of classes and lectures incorporating Whole Foods Market quality standards and top-notch culinary expertise. Whole Foods Market Culinary Center is also available for team building, product launches, book signings and other community events.

  • December 1st

    Perfect Polenta and Risotto

    6:30 $35.00

    Please join chef Suzanne Carreiro as she shows us how to make the perfect polenta and risotto.  Suzanne brings to us the skills and secrets she learned while living in Umbria for a year.  Suzanne is a former high school and adult school culinary and nutrition teacher.  She is a freelance food and wine consultant to wineries and food companies.  She is also the author of a cookbook that is due to release in Spring 2010.

    Judd's Hill Wine Maker Dinner

    6:30 $65.00

    Join us for an evening of food, fun and excellent wine.  Chef Natalie Niksa from La Saison will be pairing the perfect dishes with the perfect wines.

    The first course-Sauvignon Blanc with potato leek soup with extra virgin olive oil, Zater & sauteed prawns

    Second course-Pinot Noir with wild mushroom risotto with Bellwether Farms crescenza & thyme

    Main course-Cabernet Sauvignon with slowly braised beef short ribs served over parmesan & sage scented pappardelle with roasted turnip, carrots & pearl onions. 

    This will be an evening to remeber.

    Frog Hollow Farms Winter Dishes Class

    Join Rebecca Courchesne, chef and co-owner of Frog Hollow Farms in our Culinary center to learn how to incorporate locally grown preserved fruits into winter dishes.  On the menu will be roast pork chops with a pear sauce, pan roasted turkey breast with a plum sauce and a surprise peach-themed dessert. A fun evening will be had by all.

    Wine bar tasting Judd's Hill

    Join Gerry, Geoff and a representative from Judd's Hill Winery.  They will be pouring their Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.  These wines will be accompanied by some appetizers from our top rated catering department.  A  great way to compliment your Saturday afternoon grocery shopping.

    Wine Tasting Dominous Estate-Napa Valley Vintners

    Join us at the wine bar to taste Dominus Estate. Their proprietary Red Wine is produced in the heart of the Napa Valley by Chritain Moueix and his team. Since 1983 their goal has been to express the unique terroir found at the historic Napanook Vineyard.

  • To cancel a class, please contact Customer Service at 707.224.6300. Seven days notice is appreciated, but a full refund will be credited if you cancel within 48 hours prior to the day of the class. Any cancellations left on the e-mail or faxed into the store will not be honored.

    Please sign up for classes early.  Whole foods culinary center has the right to cancel classes 24 to 48 hours prior to a class due to insufficient enrollment or instructor illness. Whole Foods will contact you by phone regarding the cancellation. You will receive a refund or Credit.

Private Cooking Classes

  • Hands-On Classes

    Classes take place in our hands-on kitchen where students work in groups, guided by a chef instructor, to prepare the chosen meal from start to finish. Classes last two hours and culminate in a family-style meal.

    • 8-person minimum/15-person maximum

  • Demonstration Classes

    Classes take place in our demonstration kitchen. Guests learn preparation techniques and tips as a chef instructor prepares the entire meal in front of the class. Classes last approximately two hours and guests enjoy the dishes as they are prepared.

    • 10-person minimum/20-person maximum

  • Chef's Table

    This format offers guests a great meal paired with wine or beer, some cooking demonstrations and some time to network. Tables are set in a casual manor to encourage conversation among guests.  $65.00 per peerson.

    • 10-person minimum/20-person maximum
    • Meals served with a selection of house wines unless otherwise indicated.

  • Cocktail Party

    Have fun making delicious appetizers.  Hands-on: $59.00 per person.
