Whole Foods Market Napa Culinary Center is a premier hands-on culinary learning facility in the heart of the Napa Valley. We offer a wide variety of classes and lectures incorporating Whole Foods Market quality standards and top-notch culinary expertise. Whole Foods Market Culinary Center is also available for team building, product launches, book signings and other community events.

    Gluten-Free Baking & Chocolate

    The timing is perfect for this class being right before Valentine's  Day.  Karen Schuppert is one of our favorite chefs.  She is entertaining and educational all at the same time.  Here at Whole foods are focus is healthy eating and educating our customers and Karen is an expert at that.  People that are sensitive to wheat and gluten do not have to miss out on great food.  Karen shares her secrets in the kitchen so you can make these recipes at home.  Please join us for this class.  You may sign up online under the Acteva icon or sign up in the store at customer service.

    Wine and Food Pairing Dinner w' Peju Provence Winery

    This is our wine and food pairing dinner for our wineries with Napa Valley Vintners.  We have enjoyed this year long partnership.  We will continue this partnership next year but wrap up this year with a  bang. We have invited the wine maker from Peju Provence Winery.  We will have  guest chef, Kelly Fong, a Whole Foods favorite.  First course, Candied spiced pepita, avocado and mixed baby greens with a champagne vinaigrette.  Main course will be roasted lemon chicken, zesty green beans, and another tantalizing side, to be announced.  Please join us for this fabulous pairing of great wine and food.

    Raw Foods Lecture

    Please join us for this free lecture on the benefits of eating a raw foods diet.  Brenda Hinton is an expert on a raw foods diet.  There will be a lot of information and great samples.  Please sign up in store or by phone.  RSVP is important for sample preparation for the chef.  Thank you.  Please RSVP at least two days in advance of class.

    Rise and Shine -Rawsome breakfast ideas

    Please join us for an informative and tasty class with Raw Foods chef, Brenda Hinton.  Brenda travels the world educating people on the benefits of eating a raw foods diet.  Brenda specializes in transitioning people towards a raw foods way of life.  Brenda has a teaching style that is easily  understood and openly shares her knowledge of the nutritional value of raw foods.  This class will focus on breakfast but will cover a wide range of healthy eating.

    Cheryl Forberg Lecture/demo/book signing

    6:30 PM-8:30PM $10.00

    Cheryl Forberg is the nutritionist for NBC's The Biggest Loser.  She is also the author of the new book Positively Ageless.  This book focuses on key aging markers such as weight, mental acuity, skin elasticity, blood sugar, immune function and blood pressure.   

    She joins us in our Culinary Center to do a cooking demonstration and inform us of the benefits of eating a diet that actually slows the aging process. 

    Cheryl is a reistered dietician and professional chef.  She serves as an advisor for Prevention magazine and previously was a research dietician at Cedars Siani Medical Center in Los Angeles.  She has written and contributed to nine books and in 2005 she won the prestigious James Beard Award for healthy recipe development.  Cheryl lives right here in the Napa Valley. It is our good fortune that she had a break in her schedule so she could join us at Whole Foods Market.

    We have the pleasure of offering this healthy class taught by Karen Schuppert.  Not only will you learn how to make some fabulous recipes but you will learn the importance of the nutritional value of the dishes.  Whole foods is focusing on mico-nutrient rich foods and the importance of eating more of a plant based protien diet.  Karen is a  great chef, but as important, she is a great educator.  You will walk away from this class with all kinds of new facts about healthy easting. Don't miss out on this.  A new year is the perfect time to make some healthy changes to your diet

    Murphy-Goode wine tasting

    Founded in 1985 by farmers Tim Murphy, Dale Goode and Dave Ready, the Murphy-Goode winery has been making tasty fruit-centered wines from the Sonoma's Alexander Valley.

    Storyook Winery had estavlished a worldwide reputation for it's Zinfindels.  Located in the hills north of Calistoga, the wines are hand-crafted without the use of herbicides  or pesticides.

  • To cancel a class, please contact Customer Service at 707.224.6300. Seven days notice is appreciated, but a full refund will be credited if you cancel within 48 hours prior to the day of the class. Any cancellations left on the e-mail or faxed into the store will not be honored.

    Please sign up for classes early.  Whole foods culinary center has the right to cancel classes 24 to 48 hours prior to a class due to insufficient enrollment or instructor illness. Whole Foods will contact you by phone regarding the cancellation. You will receive a refund or Credit.

Private Cooking Classes

  • Hands-On Classes

    Classes take place in our hands-on kitchen where students work in groups, guided by a chef instructor, to prepare the chosen meal from start to finish. Classes last two hours and culminate in a family-style meal.

    • 8-person minimum/15-person maximum

  • Demonstration Classes

    Classes take place in our demonstration kitchen. Guests learn preparation techniques and tips as a chef instructor prepares the entire meal in front of the class. Classes last approximately two hours and guests enjoy the dishes as they are prepared.

    • 10-person minimum/20-person maximum

  • Chef's Table

    This format offers guests a great meal paired with wine or beer, some cooking demonstrations and some time to network. Tables are set in a casual manor to encourage conversation among guests.  $65.00 per peerson.

    • Meals served with a selection of house wines unless otherwise indicated.

  • Cocktail Party

    Have fun making delicious appetizers.  Hands-on: $59.00 per person.
