    Kitchen Bootcamp Series

    6-9 p.m. $325/series or $60/class

    For students interested in an intense culinary experience, our Kitchen Bootcamp Series offers more in-depth hands-on instruction over a period of 6 weeks. Each class in this series will focus on specific essential cooking methods that will be applied to a variety of delicious and impressive dishes. Students will move beyond recipes and learn fundamental techniques to build a foundation of invaluable culinary knowledge. Our Kitchen Bootcamp is ideal for all skill levels, from kitchen novices to more advanced cooks that are looking to get back to basics and strengthen the foundation of their culinary repertoire. Participants in all 6 classes in this series will receive an apron and a binder with all recipes and hand-outs.     This Valentine's day, skip the crowded restaurants and treat your date to a truly special evening of cooking, eating, laughing, and learning together.  Share an appetite for food and fun in the kitchen with your significant other as you create this tantalizing, romantic meal together: cheese fondue, cherry arugula salad with fried goat cheese, lobster bisque, herb-crusted beef tenderloin with bordelaise, dark chocolate mousse.

    Pasta Workshop

    11 am $45

     Attention Pasta Lovers! Learn techniques for preparing and mixing quality pasta dough, cutting by hand and with a machine, and proper cooking methods for fresh pasta. We'll make several pasta doughs and shapes and create a couple of simple, delicious sauces.  We will then enjoy our creations with a light salad and a "surprise" dessert.

    The Gift of Dinner: A Valentine's Meal Primer

    Valentine's day is fast approaching but you don't have to worry about making reservations, fighting traffic, breaking the bank, and being rushed through dinner.  This Valentine's day, show your loved one just how much you care by cooking a romantic dinner for two in the privacy and comfort of your own home.  In this class, Chef Dawn will teach step-by-step instructions to prepare a romantic and delicious meal for Valentine's day or any day of the year.  Entice and delight that special someone with this simply delectable meal: Grilled Caesar salad with roasted shrimp, beef Wellington, truffle-roasted asparagus, molten chocolate lava cupcakes.

    Big Game Bites

    Having friends over to watch the big game but don't want to serve the same stale chips and pretzels?  Get ready for kick-off with some great new game-time snacks that will be sure to score a touchdown with your taste buds!  Wow the crowd with this winning menu: smoky chipotle guacamole, black and blue bison sliders, Guinness beef chili, sweet and spicy rum-glazed chicken tenders.

    Nothing warms your soul more than hot soup on a cold winter day.  Chef Dawn Dlugosz will show you how to prepare several delicious and comforting soups/stews that will keep you warm all winter long.  Tasting menu includes:  lemon chicken couscous soup, beef burgundy stew, broccoli cheddar soup.

    Take a trip around the world without leaving the kitchen.  No matter where you live, nothing is more comforting and soul-satisfying than soup.  We'll explore soups from around the globe with this tasting menu: Spanish white gazpacho, French beef bourguignon, Louisiana gumbo, Vietnamese Pho.

    Chef's Table Supper Club

    6:30 pm, $40/person or $70/couple

    Take the night off every other Thursday and join our supper club for an incredible meal, lively conversation, and new friends.  Sit back, relax, sip a glass of wine, and enjoy the culinary theater as Chef Dawn creates a delicious 3-course meal right before your eyes inspired by the freshest ingredients Whole Foods Market has to offer. Chef's selection menu is spontaneously created with the freshest seasonal ingredients.  Please inform us of any food allergies or special dietary restrictions at the time of registration; every attempt will be made to accommodate your needs.

    Kids in the Kitchen After School Cooking Camp

    This winter, kids can tie-on an apron and take over the kitchen at A NEW DAWN cooking school in Whole Foods Market-Northbrook! Students will take a culinary road trip across the U.S., with stops to pick up cooking and safety skills, and confidence in the kitchen along the way.  Cost is $250 for the week and includes all food, instruction, and recipes for the week, light dinner for 1 guest on day 5, a keepsake apron, and goody bag.  Ages 10-13

    Gluten-free Gourmet: Kid-friendly Favorites

    A NEW DAWN cooking school and registered dietitian, Lara Field, MS, RD, of the University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center team up to bring you this gluten-free cooking class and nutritional discussion.  In this class, Lara will answer all your questions about Celiac disease and the gluten-free diet as Chef Dawn shows you how to prepare kid-friendly dishes so delicious, they'll never miss the gluten.  The kids are sure to gobble up these gluten-free dishes: Basic sandwich bread/grilled cheese, fettucine alfredo, chicken fingers, cupcakes.
