Tribute to the Historic Latta University

Stop by our Lifestyle Center and view this collection of impressive original paintings by local artist Greg Paige, along with a few works by "little friends" of the Latta House Foundation.  The art pays tribute to the historic Latta University and its founders, and proceeds from the sale of the artwork will benefit the Foundation. The university was founded in the late 1800s by Reverend Morgan Latta, who was born into slavery on the Cameron Family Plantation.  He received an education at Shaw University, and later established the Latta University to educate underprivileged and orphaned children in Raleigh's black community.
