According to those that practice this technique, Transcendental Meditation® is a simple, natural, effortless technique which is easy to learn and profoundly effective at reducing stress. The Transcendental Meditation® technique promotes an ideal state of holistic health, has been scientifically proven to extend lifespan. Practiced for 20 minutes twice a day, sitting comfortably in a chair, with eyes closed, the mind settles down, experiencing finer levels of thought, until it experiences the source of thought, pure consciousness, the source of unlimited creativity and intelligence. During Transcendental Meditation®, the mind experiences greater clarity while the body settles into a deep state of rest. The TM® technique does not involve concentration, is not a religion or philosophy, nor does it require a change of life-style. The introductory session covers the various benefits that TM provides and explains how the technique can be learned. The session lasts about 1.5 hours
