San Ramon Kids Can Make a Difference!!!  Fight Global Poverty through the Ornaments for the Planet Program!!!

EmpowerThePoorAndHelpFundOurSchools!

Raising Global and Local Awareness through Ornaments for the Planet!

We're making crafts at schools with local grade level classrooms from October through December.  Why?  To help fight poverty!!  Every ornament made will be sold in stores to help fight poverty!

Half of every ornament purchased goes to the grade level participating.  The other half goes to the Whole Planet Foundation®.  Never heard of it?!  Check out their website here: http://www.wholeplanetfoundation.org/

The other half goes to the grade level participating!  Everyone Wins!

The whole project includes a lesson on how microloans work, how their ornament will help, a craft, and snacks for all the hard "crafting".  And it's all free to the school.

Fun stuff!

Announcing Whole Foods Market's New Scrip Program to Benefit Local Schools!!!

A great way for parents to help raise money for their schools doing their ordinary shopping!

Similar to other scrip programs, Whole Foods Market's Scrip program benefits local schools by offering a percentage of dollars purchased in-store by participating parents to schools.  Our new scrip program operates through gift cards, which schools can opt to purchase at a discount.  Parents who shop at Whole Foods Market can now do so with the gift cards, leaving the school with the benefit of the discounted amount, at no cost to parents.  It benefits everybody!

Whole Foods Market Northern California Region School Scrip Program - How it works

Scrip may be purchased in $2500 increments; your organization will receive a 4% discount on the purchase. Our scrip is available on gift cards in either $50 denominations or $100 denominations--only one card denomination per order.   It is not necessary to spend the entire amount on the card in one purchase - your balance will remain on the card for future use. Our scrip is redeemable at all Whole Foods Markets across the nation.

Parents and teachers If you would like to participate in our School Scrip Program, please follow the steps below.

1.) Have your school sign up for our School Scrip Program by contacting Christopher.Wecks@wholefoods.com. He will confirm with you and send you a a scrip application form and a request for confirmation of your school as a 501c3 non-profit school.

2.) Order scrip by emailing Christopher.Wecks@wholefoods.com with your order request.

Please include the following information: organization name, name of the person to contact when your order is ready, the phone number to be called when your order is ready, the amount of scrip you'd like to purchase (orders must be in $2500 increments, in $50 or $100 denominations) and the store location where you will pick up the scrip. Please allow 7 to 10 working days for your order to be ready.

3.) The store will contact you when your order is ready for pick up. You will pay for your order at the store.

Check:  Your check should be written for the amount of the order, minus the 4% discount. (Example: If you place an order for $2500 worth of scrip, your check should be made out for $2400.) This check must be drawn with your organization name printed on it. No personal checks will be accepted.

Credit Card: Credit cards with your organizations name printed on them will also be accepted. . No personal credit cards will be accepted.

At Whole Foods Market San Ramon, we are active participants in our community. We are extremely proud of our community involvement and the relationships that we continue to make each month! We strive to make a difference.

Our Community 5% Days are another meaningful way we give back to our community. On designated days throughout the year a total of 5% of the day's net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations. Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these 5% Days.

Recently, Whole Foods Market San Ramon held our 5% day benefiting the Tri-Valley Haven for Women of Domestic Abuse and Homelessness and will be donating $4000 to them as a result of our customers’ generosity.
