About Us
Stretching the length of a city block with 30' high ceilings, 3 skylights, and lots of glass overlooking the street, Whole Foods Market Santa Monica feels more spacious than 27,000 square feet. Adding to the airy effect is the unusual layout of our store, with the bakery and specialty departments placed in the center, and the tall grocery aisles off to one side. Outside the offices on the 2nd level is a mezzanine that runs along one end and overlooks the store.
Santa Monica has other unique features. We bake our own pastries, cookies and bread in store and our coffee roaster provides freshly roasted coffee every day. In our Specialty Department we feature a New York-style cheese case, where the unwrapped cheeses are cut to order for the customers. We also have a case that features an array of raw ,vegetarian and vegan foods. A special case in the Meat Department dry ages our Nebraska Beef for a minimum of 3 weeks for a richer, more flavorful cut of meat.
Don't feel like cooking tonight? Stop by "the restaurant within a store" Prepared Foods Department. Along with the usual salad, fruit, and hot and cold food bars, Santa Monica features a carving station, an Italian kitchen, customized sandwiches, rotisserie chicken and an expanded Sushi section with noodle, rice and teriyaki bowls. All items are prepared without any artificial flavors, colorings, sweeteners, preservatives or hydrogenated oils.
Wind Power![]() |
Whole Foods Market Santa Monica, as well as all other stores, facilities, bake houses, distribution centers, regional offices and national headquarters in the United States and Canada, has offset 100% of the electricity we use with clean, sustainable wind energy. Whole Foods Market believes that companies, like individuals, must assume their share of responsibility as tenants of Planet Earth. The impact of Whole Foods Market’s commitment to wind power in New York State is equivalent to removing 1,800 cars from the road or 20 million pounds of carbon dioxide pollution from the atmosphere. |
