  Fancy Fruit Carving Class

  1pm to 4pm $25 (1 session)

  Join Joan Kershaw and learn the tricks of the trade!  Pay a small fortune for a "professional" bouquet or learn how to make one for a fraction of the cost.  Who wouldn't prefer an edible bouquet over flowers or balloons?  Don't spend money on professional arrangements; learn how to select, carve, arrange and store fruit transformed into a unique floral centerpiece.  It makes a great gift, but you may decide to keep it for yourself.  All supplies are included.   3rd Annual Sarasota Crew Ergathon

  5pm, Free

  Go big or go home!  Join us in front of Whole Foods Market where Sarasota Crew will attempt to break the World Records and row for a solid 24 hours!  Come out and support these amazing athletes and enjoy kid's activities, games, a DJ, boat displays and a change to win gift cards. Team will row on stationary rowing machines in front of Whole Foods Market to raise money for team equipment and to beat the world record.  For more information call Maureen Borden at  941-921-0056.

  Homemade Edible Gifts

  Holiday treats are gifts all food lovers dream of receiving.  There is something to be said for gift giving that comes from the heart and the bounty of the kitchen.  Homemade gifts in a jar or bottle are fun, frugal, and easy to share with friends, family, and neighbors.  Learn to make herb vinegars, infused oils and flavored mustard.  Recipes and packaging suggestions are included.  Making these delicious foods to give away is simple, but make sure to keep one for yourself!   5% Day Benefiting Community Youth Development

  8am to 9pm

  The Community Youth Development Program creates environments, events, and activities that cultivate leadership and support positive choices. CYD encourages young people to utilize their talents and energy and helps adults to recognize and tap into the often overlooked talents of youth. Teens work alongside staff from existing youth-serving agencies to develop programs that inspire teen participation and positively impact the community at large. Whole Foods Market will donate 5% of our day's sales to CYD as part of our commitment to our community.  Join us from 6pm to 8pm for kid's activities and live music.  Shop for a cause and help our youth continue their path to success!

  Homemade Chocolate Creations

  Learn easy, frugal ways to satisfy your chocolate fix.  Learn to dip, mold and paint or decorate chocolate in this hands-on workshop.  History, interesting trivia and recipes are provided.  If you are a chocoholic, this class is for you!  Take home a beautiful creation!  Class includes chocolate and packaging.   1st Annual Community Gingerbread House Contest, Benefiting CTD

  6pm to 8pm $25 in advance, $30 at the door

  Grow green with Karen Leonetti from Earth Angel GREEN School. Learn the ease of sprouting "Micro-greens", a mega nutritional super food! Your child will gleam with delight on how fun, easy and nutritious clover, pea shoots and sunflower sprouts are to grow for their brains and bodies. Come grow with us! Kids Club will held in front of the store from 11am to 1pm.  There is no need to register, just show up ready to grow!

  Join us at 5 Points Park for a pet party like no other!  Dress up your four-legged friends in a holiday costume to have their picture taken with Santa Paws and join the Holiday Pet Parade where the best costume will be judged. Bow wow...this ones for you pampered pooches!
