Community Giving
At Whole Foods Market we value the communities in which we do business; this is one of our Core Values! We are extremely proud of our community involvement and the relationships that we continue to make each month. We strive to make a difference.
Charitable Giving
One way we try to help is by making donations of gift cards or our products to some of the non-profit groups in the neighborhoods surrounding our store- Fenway/Kenmore, Back Bay, South End, Roxbury, Mission Hill, Dorchester, and Jamaica Plain.
Donation Request forms are available at the Customer Service Booth and should be returned to the store along with a copy of your group's 501(c)3 letter from the IRS/US Treasury at least 60 days prior to when you would expect your donation.

Our Community 5% Days are another meaningful way we give back to our community. On designated days throughout the year a total of 5% of the day's net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations. Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these 5% Days.
Some of our recent recipients have been the Fenway Community Health Center and the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless. Many of our stores have banded together to support larger groups such as Share Our Strength's Operation Frontline and NOFA.
Community Involvement
There are other ways that our store works with non-profit agencies in the area. We participate regularly with other Greater Boston stores or on our own by offering our customers coupons at checkout enabling them to support selected agencies. Project Bread, Boston Living Center, MSPCA, AIDS Action Committee, The Farm School, NOFA, Pine Street Inn, Share Our Strength's Operation Frontline, and the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition are a few of the groups which have benefited from this program.
You'll often find Team Members from the Symphony store sampling food or talking up our store at community and fundraising events, too. You've seen us at Taste of the South End, Taste of the Fenway, and at many public and private health and wellness fairs and food events around town. At larger scale events such as Share Our Strength's Taste of the Nation, Earthfest, and AIDS Walk Boston, you'll often find Whole Foods Market Team Members from all over Eastern Massachusetts!
And, although many of our regionally-supported activities, such as Bank of Boston Celebrity Series, Huntington Theatre Company, etc., don't require us to be there, you've snacked on our donations or purchased them to support the programs you've attended.
