  • Thursday, July 2

    Community Support Day to benefit Missouri River Relief

    Whole Foods Market is dedicated to supporting our community. On Thursday, July 2, we will donate five percent of the day's net sales to Missouri River Relief. Missouri River Relief's mission is to engage individuals and communities along the river in the exploration, enjoyment, restoration and care of the Missouri River through hands-on, on-the-river stewardship and education events and activities. Since 2001, Missouri River Relief, with the help of 10,032 volunteers, has cleaned up 479.4 tons of trash from 517 miles of river. Please join MRR participants and volunteers in the store to learn about this very special organization and to continue to support our local community with your purchases. Don't forget to stock up on the 2nd!

  • The Boney Goat Band

    As part of the festivities for Missouri River Relief's Community Support Day, we will have The Boney Goat Band performing at our store from 11:30 - 1:30 pm. This group of rollicking old-time musicians was formed in 1991 by Mike Saputo, their guitar player. This fun, entertaining group will be sure to get your feet stomping and melodies running through your head.

We offer real food, all free of artificial ingredients and hydrogenated fats, at the best possible price. Take our store tour to learn how you can get the most for your money everyday. Meet at the Customer Service Center. Due to space limitations, advance registration is required. Receive a free goody bag filled with products and special offers.

    One Dime at a Time Recipient: Institute of American Acupuncture and Life Medicine

    1 - 3:00 pm

    Come and meet members of this fine organization to learn about their mission and welcome them as our new One Dime at a Time recipient. Bring in your own bags for us to bag your groceries and donate your dime refund to assist in them in their work. (See more details below). The first 50 people to meet them will receive a free recycled plastic tote bag.

    Kids Club Kitchen Camp for 6 - 8 Year Old Future Chefs

    Monday through Thursday, 10:30 am - 12:30 pm and Friday, 10:30 am - 1:00 pm $150 for the week

    This summer kids can tie on an apron and take over the kitchen in our Whole Lifestyle Center!  On their world culinary tour, campers will create a mix of dishes from five different cuisines and sit down to enjoy their delicious meals each day.  They'll have tons of fun and leave with the confidence to make flavorful meals and snacks at home for family and friends. 

    Using the highest quality, freshest, all-natural ingredients, participants work hands-on with our experienced instructors to learn valuable cooking skills while making authentic recipes.  Campers will love showing off the fruits of their labor as they host their very own feast on the last day of camp with an invited guest.  Kids will grasp many of the fundamentals of great cooking and develop healthy habits that will last a lifetime.

    Recipes and instructions are specially tailored for your child's age group.  Classes are limited to 12 students.  Students may invite 1 guest to Day 5.  Guests should arrive on Day 5 at 12:30 pm.   All cooking classes are hands on.

    Remaking Your Favorite Comfort Foods - Veggie Style!

    With, Bridgette Kossor, Certified Macrobiotic Educator

    In this class, Bridgette will take classic comfort foods, like golden gravy, mac and cheese, and chocolate pudding, and make them over with healthier, plant-based ingredients. The result is delicious, satisfying dishes that make your taste buds and body happy at the same time! Bridgette Kossor is a certified, macrobiotic educator; she has lost over 100 lbs. normalized blood pressure, cholesterol and sleep apnea by changing her food, naturally. Bridgette's classes are offered with lots of humor, honesty and love. Yum!

    Summer Luau with the Hawaiian Polynesian Revue

    1-2:30 pm Free

    Please join us for an authentic Hawaiian Polynesian luau with this exciting music and dance troupe, bringing you the romance of the south pacific islands!! This professional Hawaiian, Samoan, Tahitian and Maori native dance troupe will present a live musical show that includes drumming, audience participation and professional dancers. Their costumes are traditional Hawaiian, Tahitian, Samoan and Maori styles that bring alive the excitement of these Polynesian islands. The Hawaiian Polynesian Revue comes to us with over 20 years of national experience, performing in many festivals all over the country. Every department will be featuring samples reflecting offerings from the southern hemisphere, and foods that exemplify healthy summer eating.

    Rewind Your Wine - Cork Recycling Drive

    11am - 3pm

    Join us for our first-ever wine and champagne cork recycling drive. Bring a bag or a handful of natural or synthetic corks and help us launch the store's participation as the first grocer in the St. Louis region to serve as a drop off location for the "Rewind Your Wine" recycling program. Representatives from Cork Tree Creative, creators of the program, will be on site to talk about how all corks collected will be recycled into reusable building materials. For more information, about the Rewind Your Wine program, visit www.rewindyourwine.com.  This drive will kick-off our store being your ongoing source for recycling corks!

    Stray Rescue Adoption Day

    11:00 am - 1:00 pm Free

    Stray Rescue pets in all shapes and sizes will be available for adoption to loving homes on the sidewalk in front of our store (weather permitting). Stray Rescue's sole purpose is to rescue stray animals in need of medical attention, restore them to health, and place them in loving adoptive homes.

    Acupuncture & Menopause

    6:30 - 8:00 pm $5.00

    With Jason Hackler, Dipl.Ac (NCCAOM), L.Ac.,DOM (NM)

    This class will look at how Acupuncture and Meridian Therapy, a 3,000 year old integrated health care system, can successfully address menopausal issues. The class will include a brief historical overview of Acupuncture and Meridian Medicine and several successful case studies, illustrating its effectiveness in treating menopausal symptoms.  Treatment approach and protocol, diet and possible herbs/supplements will also be discussed. Jason has been studying Meridian Therapy and Kototama Medicine since 1994. Licensed as Doctor of Oriental Medicine, he is presently Senior Associate of Natural Life Therapy Clinic (www.nltclinic.com) and Project Director of the not for profit Institute of American Acupuncture and Life Medicine, treating the less fortunate of the metro area (www.iaalm.org).

Registration and Cancellation Information

ActevaWhole Foods Market offers these classes for your benefit. The information presented represents the views of the lecturer and may or may not reflect the views of Whole Foods Market. As always, you should decide what is appropriate for you and your lifestyle.  Classes fill up fast.  Please sign up early.  For preparation purposes, registration for adult classes ends at noon on the day of the class, and registration for children's classes ends 24 hours prior to the event. 

Sold Out Classes

Only patrons that have prepaid for classes will be eligible to attend if the class is sold out. To be added to the waiting list for a sold out class, email us at marcia.whelan@wholefoods.com and specify the class, date and number of people wanting to attend. We will contact you if availability opens up.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel attendance at a class, please contact Marcia Whelan at 636-527-1160. A class credit will be given if you cancel within 48 hours prior to the class start time. No class credits will be provided for cancellations less than 48 hours. Cancellations left on E-mail or faxed to the store will not be honored. Online registrations will have a small service fee subtracted from their refund. Whole Foods Market has the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment or instructor illness. You will be contacted by phone regarding the cancellation and you will receive a class credit or a refund.

All Classes are demonstration style, unless designated "hands-on" in the class description. You will be able to sample the foods prepared during the class. All cooking classes provide a complementary beverage that could include mineral water or wine to appropriately compliment the foods. The number of class participants is limited due to the size of the room. Please be sure to make your reservations early.
