Community Giving

At Whole Foods Market , we are active participants in our communities. We are extremely proud of our community involvement and the relationships that we continue to make each month.

Since our Chelsea location opened in 2001, we've donated over 345,261 pounds of bakery, canned food, meat, produce, and prepared food items to City Harvest. http://www.cityharvest.org/ City Harvest is New York City's first and only food rescue program and picks up items daily from our stores.

Our Community 5% Days are another meaningful way we give back to our community. On designated days throughout the year a total of 5% of the day's net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations. The New York City stores recently worked together to raise $45, 089.75 for the Food Bank for New York City. www.foodbanknyc.org Food Bank for New York City is the city's major hunger-relief organization working to end food poverty throughout the five boroughs.

If you would like to be considered for a 5% Day, please review our guidelines and determine applicable Whole Foods Market location. Send information about your organization, along with the donation application, to the Marketing Team Leader in the appropriate store.
