Community Giving

At Whole Foods Market, we are intimately connected to the health and economy of each community we serve, and feel it is our responsibility to give back to those communities in meaningful ways.

Charitable Giving

Whole Foods Market University Heights proudly supports many non-profit organizations in our community and beyond through a charitable giving program that includes 5% Days, monthly register donation coupons, and donations of food for fundraising events.

What exactly is a 5% Day? Whole Foods Market University Heights donates five percent of a designated day's net sales to a selected non-profit organization. We give careful consideration to each non-profit that applies for this financial support. Some of the groups we've supported over the years include the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation, the Rhode Island Good Neighbor Energy Fund, and the Apeiron Institute for Sustainable Living. For more information about 5% Days, please contact bonnie.frechette@wholefoods.com.

What is a Register Donation Coupon?

We help numerous non-profit organizations raise money through donation coupons that are made available at checkout and added to a customer's order at their request. We typically feature a different organization each month. Some of the groups that we've helped over the past year include the Providence Boys & Girls Club, Farm Fresh Rhode Island, Corridor Keepers, Friends of Brown Street Park and many, many more. For more information, please contact bonnie.frechette@wholefoods.com.

Donations and Sponsorships

Whole Foods Market University Heights contributes to a number of community events, health fairs, student groups, fundraisers and non-profit organizations throughout the year. We donate to organizations whose goals most closely reflect Whole Foods Market's mission and Core Values. Download our Donation/Sponsorship request form or pick one up at the Customer Service desk. Forms must be filled out entirely and returned to the store at least 6 weeks prior to the event.

Community Service

At Whole Foods Market University Heights, we are active participants in our community. We are extremely proud of our involvement and the relationships that we continue to make each month!
