Community Giving

At Whole Foods Market, we are active participants in our community. We are extremely proud of our community involvement and the relationships that we continue to make each month! We strive to make a difference.

Our charitable giving programs support a variety of not-for profit organizations including those involved in Preventative Healthcare, Environmental Preservation, Hunger Relief, Organic Farming/Sustainable Food Resources and Animal Compassion.

Ways We Give

Community 5% Days On designated days throughout the year a total of 5% of the day's net sales are donated to local non-profit organizations. Customers help support our selected organizations just by shopping on these 5% Days.

Sponsorships
We are a major sponsor of Red Cross Blood Drives, Community Aids Walks, Share our Strength and Breast Cancer Research Fundraisers, and MA Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals events.

Register Donation Coupons
Every month we feature a coupon for a regional or local non-profit organization. Customers can purchase a coupon for either $2 or $5. At month's end, we tally the donations and submit a check to the group. Some of the non-profits that have benefited from this program include: Project Bread; Pine Street Inn; MA Breast Cancer Coalition; MA Audubon Society; and MA Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Food Bank Donations
Every week we donate safe and edible food from our shelves to local food pantries. Currently we work with the Second Helping and the Greater Boston Food Bank.

Donations
Our most common donation is in the form of either a gift card or food products. All requests for donations must be submitted in writing at least 45 days in advance of the event and must be accompanied by a copy of the organization's 501c3 IRS determination letter. Requests without the 501c3 will not be considered. Due to the volume of donation requests, we are not able to fill every need, but will do our best to accommodate you.
