7th Annual Blankets for AIDS Drive for Higher Ground
Share the warmth of the holiday season with a donation of a new blanket. Our goal is to collect new blankets for individuals, families and children impacted by HIV/AIDS. We are proud to partner with the Moscow Ballet as they unveil their 2009 Great Russian Nutcracker holiday tour! Continuing their tradition of the finest world class dance, the 2009 tour marks the 16th consecutive season of bringing family and friends closer together. This year's tour stars the ballet world's Prima Ballerina, Cristina Terentieva and her partner Alexei. Cristina is a Gold Medalist of the 2008 Varna International Ballet Competition where Vladimir Vasiliev of the Bolshoi bestowed upon her the highest honors. One Dime At A Time
Reusing your own bags now helps more than ever with our One Dime at a Time program. You can donate your bag refund simply by telling the cashier when you check out. From now until January 17th, your dimes will be donated to Forgotten Harvest, whose mission is to relieve hunger in the Detroit metropolitan community by rescuing food and donating it to emergency food providers. Forgotten Harvest currently rescues 12 million pounds of food per year by collecting surplus prepared and perishable food from a variety of sources including Whole Foods Market. This food is delivered to emergency food providers in the metro Detroit area. The individuals and families served are as diverse as the community's residents - young and old, from all races and faiths. For more information, visit www.forgottenharvest.org
