A Beauty Expert in the Grocery Aisles

Traci Reazor, Whole Body Aesthetician

In 2005, Traci Reazer was one of the first Whole Foods Market team members to be hired with the title Aesthetician. You can find Traci in the Whole Body department at our flagship Lamar store in Austin, TX.How long have you worked for Whole Foods Market®?

I started working as a cashier at the Pearl store in Boulder, Colorado, in 1998.

How long have you been an aesthetician?

I knew I wanted to go to beauty school before I started working at Whole Foods Market. I got licensed in 2002. While I was in school, I fell in love with the Dr. Hauschka holistic skin care system, which focuses on healthy, balanced skin. I wanted to become a Dr. Hauschka aesthetician because I noticed a difference with my own skin using their products. I earned my Hauschka certification in 2003.

What do you like most about your job?

I’ve been here at the Lamar store since it opened, so I have a pretty loyal client base. They know they can come here for expert advice.

I like helping people. Growing up, I had skin issues, and I think that inspired me to try to help other people feel better about themselves.

Mineral Fusion Fossil nail color

I heard that you named the new Mineral Fusion nail color that’s called Fossil. How did that come about? Mineral Fusion hosted a contest for Whole Foods Market employees to name new colors. Because Mineral Fusion cosmetics are mineral based, the main criterion was that the name had to be inspired by rocks and minerals.

What nail trends do you like for spring?

Right now, in early spring, I’ve been ordering a lot of pastels: lilac, lavender, mint green and robin’s egg blue. As we get closer to summer, I’ll start ordering more intense and sultry shades: yellow, fuchsia and coral.

Do you have any favorite nail-care products?

Mineral Fusion Nail Polish Remover is the best I’ve ever tried. It starts working right away!

I also love the Dr. Hauschka Neem Nail Oil. It really supports healthy cuticles, and it comes in two forms—a pen that you can use on the go and a pump that’s great to keep by your bedside.

Traci’s DIY Manicure and Pedicure Tips

1. Clip/Shape/Buff. Cut nails to desired length. File nails to smooth any roughness from clipping.  Buff nails to smooth surface and prepare for polish.

2. Groom Cuticle. Apply Mineral Fusion Cuticle Treatment to nail and let sit for one minute. Push cuticles back. Wipe with a dry cloth to remove any residue.

3. Prepare & Polish. Apply Mineral Fusion Base Coat. Wait two minutes and apply polish.  Use three swipes: start at the center and fill in the sides.

Pro-Tip: Mineral Fusion nail products are free of toluene, formaldehyde, phthalates and camphor. I find that they are less drying and more gentle on your cuticles.

4. Seal the Deal. Finish with Mineral Fusion Top Coat to prevent chipping and enhance shine.
