When I spent 3 months farming in France, part of that time was during cherry season, and I learned to make clafoutis. The best part about this dessert is that it calls for cherries with the pits--so no need for ceaseless pitting! You can just throw them in along with the few ingredients the recipe calls for and voilà: a delicious and easy cherry dessert.

I love them just as they are mostly but a great dessert it to put a can of coconut in the fridge for a couple of hours (or longer if you want) and skim the top "solid part" off afterward and whip it. It whips just like whipped cream. Add sweetener of your choice and then add pitted cherries and chocolate chips or instead of chocolate chips, blueberries.

I would go on a 2 day cherry fast, seriously. I would sit on the grass bare foot in the morning sunshine with two and  half pounds of yummy cherries and pit them. Divide in 3 potions.(breakfast, lunch and dinner). Place 1 portion in blender with 1 or 2 cups of water and vavroom....  Gorgeous, delicious, refreshing, tangy, cherry juice. Full of fiber, potassium, vitamin C, boron, anttioxidants and melatonin. Repeat next day. Yum yum.

My wife has been eating dried tart cherries for her arthritis, & can feel the difference when she doesn't eat them. The problem is finding them without added sugar. A cherry cobbler is absolutely the best!

I would share with family. I would also dry out some for use in my rice puddings and/or bread puddings. If they were rainiers, I would eat them one at a time until they were gone.

Use your teeth. I teach my boys to roll the cherries inside their month while teething them. It is fun.

cherries are by far the seasonal fruit that I wait for every year and eat till I can't eat anymore, they are so good all by themselves and are very good for you, this is one of my splurges when it comes to food.
