My husband and I could live at WF Market. Saturday's are the best with the many samples available. We love the cheese section and bread section and we always come out spending much more than we anticipated. And remember to bring your reusable shopping bags.

My favorites for mother's day would be fresh fruit, like berries and organic bananas, a couple of dreamy cheeses & container of mixed olives, a dozen or so empanadas from the hot foods section, a whole pizza for the kids, bottle of crisp white wine & a bottle of pinot noir.

My daughter and I went to a wine tasting last night (4/28/09)at our Whole Foods and really enjoyed the experience. We signed up to do it again next month. Anyway, the Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne and the Ossau Iraty cheese were my favorites! I also like the 365 Truffles that Whole Foods sell.

The flowers at WF are always fresh. I know, beacuse I purchase flowers twice a month. Thanks for the idea about using the vegan product at WF to bake and cook with, it's is a great and healthy idea and I'm not even a vegan, but I do monitor my cholesterol.

TreeGoddess says …

I love the large selection of vegan and wheat-free items available at Whole Foods. As a breastfeeding Mama whose baby has food sensitivities I really appreciate all the help I can get while nourishing my little sweetie.

I recommend the pre-made mac and cheese. Probably the best mac and cheese I've ever had outside of my own. ;) For people recommending beauty products, please research on the ingredients. "Natural" and "organic" doesn't always mean safe.

WF makes grocery shopping fun again! Great sourdough breads from the bakery, 365 Greek Olive OIl, and dressings are my favorites. WF Vanilla Passion Trail Mix is wonderful. A new favorite is Liberte' Coconut Yogurt; wow is it good. I regularly buy lots of 365 products too numerous to mention and they are all good, as well as the choices of meats and poultry. The turkey sausage is a favorite with my family.

I do not have a local Whole Foods market nearby, but appreciated seeing what the store has to offer. I was especially impressed that the segment ended with the promotion of the Feed 100 bag....since world hunger is a big concern of mine.

I always drink soy milk, and I find that the 360 unsweetened soy milk is excellent and cheaper than any that I have found of equal quality.

Leilani Olsen says …

I love the pre-made polenta. It makes a quick meal, with a jar of tomato sauce and some italian sausage from the meat counter, a nice salad made with the mixed greens. That would be a great mom's day meal, I think even my husband could manage.

Connie says …

A loaf of your white chocolate apricot bread topped with cream cheese and accompanied with dark grapes and a fine wine or exotic loose tea would make a pleasant Mother's Day brunch or thoughtful snack.

Linda Zarr says …

Buy a bunch of green cleaning products and tools and shine up her home for her, leaving the prods and tools behind for next use by her

I'm going square dancing on Mother's Day at a state convention! My 20-year-old son agreed to celebrate the following Sunday, when my four sisters will all be in town for a family barbecue. Our youngest sister always insists we use only Whole Foods products, especially their meats, and has made me a Whole Foods convert. For many years now, I have always put WF gift certificates on my gift Wish Lists, and always use them up so quickly! One guess as to what I would like to receive this Mother's Day!!?

I thank goodness for Whole Foods. I have Celiac disease and I have to eat Gluten free. Whole foods has a large selection of prepared foods and mixes that I can use. I even give the products to my kids. The Food For Life Wheat & gluten free rice tortillas are great for lunch wraps. My family loves the Pamela's Kitchen brownie and chocolate chip cookie mixes. I make the best bread in my bread maker with the Pamela's Kitchen wheat free bread mix. We love their pancake mix as well. I am now able to enjoy corn or rice pasta with my family when I make their pasta dishes. The price is reasonable especially since there was no place else to find these items except online and there we were stuck paying top price and shipping because there was no alternative. I love Whole Foods.

I love so many items at Whole Foods, its hard to count the ways. We LOVE the seafood section there's always such a great selection and the items that are already prepped like the nut crusted fish are awesome! A lot of my family has diabetes and we love to entertain so my new fave is to go to WF and pick up some a selection of fab cheese, smoked salmon and other toppings and make appetizers out on cucumber slices, bell pepper wedges, carrot slices or whole wheat toast points...these are always a hit. Oh yeah, and a big container of their fabulous hummus never hurts either :) I also love that they have so many items that are just so hard to find in other stores such as the Better n' Peanut Butter and the unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze. And one last thing... we NEVER turn down an opportunity to visit the salad and hot food bar...such an awesome treat!

One of my must have items from WFM is Gerolsteiner mineral water. Supplies a large portion of my calcium and magnesium just drinking delicious water! I'm stuck on it.

Sherry says …

A bit of spa treatment with Whole Foods soaps, shampoo and lotion, then add some 365 Truffles and a delicious dessert from the bakery - perfect!

Maggie says …

Go for a theme - Coffee and Teas. BATH products/lotions. Get a Bowl or colander and fill it with crackers and cheese- scones or bagels would work, too. Some scrumptious desserts, like cheesecake works for me. Just about anything from WF would put a smile on my face!

Kimberly says …

I LOVE all of the fresh bread in the bakery and Annie's Naturals Roasted Garlic Olive Oil. Great for making bruschetta or add some dried herbs to the oil and dip away!

Pam says …

I'll always remember mom's special meals: her spaghetti and meat balls, her "Dutch" salad dressing, and her creative appetizers. As I shop the aisles at Whole Foods, I sometimes think about how much she'd have LOVED shopping here; it's a treat for the senses and always inspires healthy, creative and adventurous meal planning.

One recent Mother's day celebration was wth my oldest daughter at the Whole Foods salad bar. The food was wonderful and I got to catch up on all the great things my daughter was doing with her life. Mother's day and any holliday is all about great food and family. She is about to graduate with a Master's degree in business and I still think she remembers what I said when she was very little that green veggies help you grow. Thanks for the opportunity to share this and remember how special family really is.

Debbie says …

I love everything at Whole Foods, but my favorite is the Greek Gods yogurt in either Pomegranate or Fig flavor. I make special trips to WF just to pick some up!

Kevin says …

For a perfect Mother's Day I recommend Aura Cacia bath salts in Heart Song scent and Bhakti Chai! Mmmmm!

Susan Zuckerman says …

There are 2 treats at Whole Foods I cannot live without. One is Earth Balance Peanut Butter and the other is Lifeway Kefir. How can they possibly be healthy if they taste so good? A glass of pomegranite kefir and Earth Balance peanut butter on whole wheat bread...heaven, and healthy too! Wow!

Debra says …

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, and WF free range eggs are the best anywhere. Serve them with some WF faux breakfast sausage, some of the inimitable WF fresh fruit (don't forget the pineapple), one of the fresh Portuguese rolls from the bakery, and a cup of Mighty Leaf green tea, and I'm a happy mom.

Nathalie says …

A huge time saver and healthy dinner for the entire family is the prepared food counter. The choices are always fresh and at the right temperature when you get home to serve. Take smaller containers of a few more dishes for the kids to try. Experimenting with foods is a great together night thing to do. 365 Peanut butter is a healthy choice for the kids too. Thank you Whole Foods.

Whole foods is by far the most delectable place and I live in the foothills in Colorado so every weekend I look forward to my visit to the store. Its one of those places that when you enter the store you get a good feeling inside and if I could live in Whole Foods I would! I currently don't live in the same state as my parents but every time my Mom comes in town we have a date to Whole Foods. Its always known that when Mom comes in town we are going to Whole Foods and probably more than once! There are so many products throughout the store to pick just one favorite but I enjoy the fresh tortillas, the awesome fattening tortilla chips, fresh guacamole, flowers, italian sparkeling water, fresh cut soaps, the clothing, the bbq and of course all the wonderful desserts that make you drool when you look in that glass case! We cannot forget either how fun all the samples are throughout the store. Its always exciting to see what sample will be out next time we visit the store so you can taste things that maybe you never would have thought you would have enjoyed. Thanks Whole Foods for providing such a wonderful store that we can truly look forward to going every weekend and when family is in town!

My Mother’s Day basket would have flowers, a sampling of teas, essential oils, especially Lavender, and oil to mix, a sampling of coffees, and at least one of the bakery desserts.

Rosemary says …

A wonderful Mother's Day morning would be lounging in the all cotton natural robe I purchased from WF...sipping a cup of freshly brewed Whole Foods coffee...and taking the first bite of my Morning Glory muffin -- the best muffin ever created, and only available at WF (of course)! Happy Mother's Day to all!

Linda says …

A nice lunch at your salad bar with all the amazing vegetarian options. That would be a treat.

Kelly says …

I love all the dairy and wheat free choices for my sensitive kids. I also feel like a great mom when I can purchase pure hair and body proudcts that not only are great for sensitive skin, they are better for the environment, and contain no nontoxic ingredients. Then there's the vitamins. I have never found such complete food vitamins anywhere else. With WF's New Chapter Organics vitamins, I feel myself a healthier and more energized mom. For myself I appreciate the shelves upon shelves of organic teas in all flavors imaginable and free trade to boot. I like to curl up with one of the many teas and some of the many varities of great oranic dark chocolates. After having this treat, I will have a healthy and delicious meal with fresh bakery bread, a garbanzo bean sandwich spread, some healthy baked chips, fresh fruit, and a real juice, healthy soda while I bask in the warm sun on a picnic with my family.

Kirsten says …

Instead of the plastic sandwich bags that my children inevitably toss in the garbage at school, I buy Natural Value Waxed Paper Bags. They are unbleached, they don't have the odor that plastic bags emit, I feel better about my children using them, and finally, they don't last forever at a landfill like plastic bags.

Linda says …

The sushi at the Whole Foods in Tribeca - it is one of her favorite foods at the store.

Laurie says …

I think an iced tea and a fancy cupcake from the bakery would be the perfect Mother's Day gift!

Krista White says …

I think a nice meat and cheese spread would be nice, with some olives from the olive bar, and a nice fresh demi-baguette!

My mom and I used to spend every Monday shopping at Whole Foods together. It was a tradition that went all the way back when our store was called Bread and Circus. Although I have moved from where I used to live, I remember, fondly, shopping with mom. We both still shop at Whole Foods, although in different cities, and we regularly call one another to share our Whole Foods food finds, recipes, and treats from our respective stores.

Kathleen Johnson says …

I shop at whole foods three times a week.. first for the water i fill up my two containers, one for my son and one for me... and then for everything else.. i like the brand name products you carry, and then the turkey and bacon you carry that does not have nitrates in them, the gluten free bread.. the salad bar is great.. i would like my kids to take me to lunch there and then get some yummy desert from the bakery department.. they could also buy me something from the cosmetics department..maybe some soap or anything.. i use the henna for my hair.. it is so good to have this store around...

matt says …

Whole paycheck- i just love all of the food samples you have, i never even have to buy anything they're so good

I like to celebrate motherhood by giving my Grandmother packets of seeds, so that she can plant her garden each year. It helps her and mother Earth.

H. Caballero says …

My favorite place @ Whole Foods is the bakery section. I LOVE your Strawberry Boston Cream Pie! It tastes like home made. Perfect treat for Mother's Day :) Plus Whole Foods is pretty much the only place in town where I can get a fresh loaf of bread that has a real crust - love the variety.

Valerie Hess says …

I would love a box of the Seth Ellis chocolates for Mother's Day. They are fabulous as well as fair trade, organic, and all those other wonderful qualities that I have come to expect from Whole Foods.

Susan Ginnings says …

I love the pre-cooked food choices, but my favorite is hot chili tofu. Simple but so good, and goes so well with so many different things. I also love all the quinoa dish choices.

Linda Hoover says …

The list of my favorites is WAY too long for this little box here, but a few of my top picks are Marantha Almond Butter (we could not live long without it!), Whole Foods' smoked meats and barbeque sauce on a fresh Kaiser Roll, and also the Sonoma Chicken Salad (my kids never get any because Mom loves it so), the tortilla chips with guacamole, the mouth watering olive bar and the wonderful array of fresh vegies and exotic mushrooms. Shopping at regular food stores is drudgery and makes me resent having to conjure up yet another dinner. The antidote is Whole Foods, where I come home excited to cook and inspired by Mother Earth's glorious bounty. Thank you!

April Larcher says …

I agree, the bulk bins are the best...you get to choose how much you buy and it allows you to try new things.

Hi, I love the Edward and Sons Brown rice snaps with the Whole Foods Wisconsin Garlic Cheddar..............delicious together!!!!!!! Try it!!!!!!!

Stasi says …

It is nice to shop in your store and not worry about anything, and not just for food but for your skin and hair as well. And your workers are so friendly and outgoing, they make sure they can help you in any way they can, that you are finding what you need and answer any questions. And that makes for very happy customers.

My favorite products are currently WF organic dried Mango, organic dried dates & organic dark chocolate. I have recently turned to raw/live foods & have replaced my afternoon cookies with your organic dried fruit & organic dark choclate as a healthier alternative.

Because my mom lives 2000 miles away and because she's a breast cancer survivor and strong advocate for other women, I decided to celebrate her this year by making a donation to the Komen Foundation in her honor. During this past year I have brought her around to using natural cosmetics and personal care products in order to cut down on her chemical load, and she'll be getting a basket of Whole Foods goodies to celebrate her day as well!
