I make an "Oat and Amaranth Cluster" snack that can also be eaten for breakfast. It has oats, amaranth, egg whites,(raw)honey and any kind of dried fruit(s) and nut(s) you have in the pantry. Each cluster (about 2 TBSP of batter) has 120 calories, 1g saturated fat, 3g unsaturated fat and 19g of carbohydrates. There is no added sugar - only natural sweeteners from the honey and dried fruit. My kids love them, and my clients love them. They are filling and provide fiber and carbs for long-lasting energy.

Maureen says …

My favorite healthy snack is homemade cheddar popcorn. I pop organic popcorn in a special popcorn pot on top of the stove using just a little olive oil. While the popcorn is still hot, I dump it into a large mixing bowl and sprinkle it with salt and organic cheddar cheese powder (you can buy this online). The cheddar cheese powder is kind of like the stuff they put in boxed macaroni and cheese but tastes much better. I only use a tablespoon or two for a whole batch of popcorn. It's so delicious.

As boring as it may sound, two of my favorite snacks are raw almonds and raw walnuts. Grabbing a handful is quick and helps keep my blood sugar steady.

NickieKeleky says …

My favorite healthy snack is so easy because I have two very little kiddos that want to help mommy make their snack. We use celery and peanut butter. It is messy enough for my 22 month old little girl and yummy enough for my 3 year old little boy. I cut and wash the celery to bite size pieces for my for each kiddo. Next is the fun part, scoop the peanut butter into the celery and enjoy. My little guy loves chunky peanut butter on his celery. The cold crunch of celary and the salty sweet taste peanut butter is a fantastic combination.
