Great info on immune support. I know it is tricky for kids, but garlic and ginger are good natural sources of immune support.

Susan says …

I agree with Ann- seasonal foods are key contributors to seasonal health. Eating foods which such as fruits in the summer and root veggies in the fall, -helps the body transition from summer to fall.

Mary says …

Very cool to come across WFoods on the web. Indeed the seasons are shifting and health and supplements can guide us all to a stronger immune system.

Gail says …

Good idea for WF to get into some web-info! I love the stores and the information your staff always provides. Good to find concrete applications for your products, in these podcasts.

What is going on. My kids are sick already from school, and it seems odd. The weather is still good here, but I guess the subtle seasonal changes are really affecting them. I'm hoping the info here helps, thanks for sharing.

We started with a goldenseal, echinacea support about a month ago, and so far so good. The house is healthy and I feel like your systems are supported as the weather changes

Another great podcast! I saw banners for "Back To School" in your stores, and I'm delighted to find this podcast here!

This morning was a cold one. I slept with the windows open as always this time of year, and when I woke I realized it was much colder then expected. I have a slight sore throat, and hope the kids don't have the same when that wake up. The timing of this series is spot on! Time for the kids immune support!

i agree with your info + Susan's comment that B's and C's are really important aspects of immune support. I take a B complex year round, with garlic and ginger, and I am rarely sick.

Thanks for the info. Indeed the season is upon us. I like Tia's suggestion, but there is no way I can get my kids to get past the taste of goldenseal. I'll have to look for a kids friendly/flavor friendly version.

Wendy says …

Great podcast.

Elizabeth says …

I enjoyed this cast and I to feel that a B complex is one of the best immune support supplements anyone can take.

It is incredible how quickly the seasons are shift here on the East coast. The evenings and mornings are cold, and my husband and I are both already feeling sore/tender throats in the mornings. We are beefing up with an immune support supplement, as well as ginger tea.

I ejoyed this podcast, and want to say I also find the instore booklets very valuable!

There is a great product for kids called: Enzymatic Therapy Sea Buddies. it has zinc, C, B6 etc. My boys love it.

Susan says …

This is good info- B complex and C's are great to ward off colds during this time of year + B is a great stress reducer, which is vital as we parents deal with Back to School schedules.

I just found this series through a friend, and I'm really enjoying your coverage. I'm off to poke around some more and listen/read the earlier posts.

Lynn says …

Alright! Great to find this series. I didn't realize Whole Foods had such an active website with podcasts/blogs. I visited your site a couple years ago and it was very different at that time, glad to see the progress.

Pam says …

I'm a big believer in the benefits of a "B" complex! Glad to hear you speaking to it and other supplements value.

W.W. says …

We do take supplements similar to the ones mentioned here. It is tough to tell if they are having an impact or not, we are relatively healthy, and I'm not sure if the family would be worse off without or not. For now we'll continue with healthy eating and supplements.

Good to come across your podcasts. I am impressed with the subject matter and the delivery. This pre-fall season is a great time for immune build up. We start to eat allot of root veggies such as garlic, beets, etc and it really helps to keep the blood stream clean.

Judith says …

Good timing here. We already have a sniffly house from the first two weeks of school. WF carries some great immune support products for kids and adults alike.

Tawnya says …

Are girls love the flavor of warm lemon and ginger water, with honey. I believe this is a great health agent during the fall and winter.

Allison says …

Great podcast!

We have 5 kids and it is vital that we keep the healthy through out the school year. We do give our kids immune support supplements and multi's and believe this has really helped over the years.

Pamela says …

Our family is back in the school swing of things and it seems we are already on the edge of a few colds in the house. For the adults we beef up on garlic, but we can't get the kids to take this up. I hope these suggestions can help.

Marcy says …

I'm a big believer in probiotics. A digestive system working at its best is key to all other body functions.

Lauran says …

Great to see WF running a podcast series like this. Your instore staff is very good with product info, I like seeing this carried over into the web.

Susan says …

Thanks for the great info on immune support, this is indeed the season all the colds start up.

Jill says …

My goodness, first week back to school and we already have running noses at our house :( Thanks for the reminder of the importance of probiotics, I'm off to get some, we are out.

Monica says …

Probiotics work great with other supplements. I believe they actually help your body integrate the supplements.

Patricia says …

This is a great reminder, to get back on track for school.

Lisa says …

Fresh juices and yogurt our great ways to keep your system healthy and ready to fight off cold. The benefits of fresh veggie and fruit juices, are far greater then supplements.

Cathy says …

Good podcast. Your store is full of fantastic natural and organic foods, please don't forget that natural sources from foods are the best sources.

Nancy says …

We are really hoping this advice will help. I’m discouraged that the kids are already filled with running noses.

Paula says …

Crazy weather here as left the family under the weather. We had a big cool off and thought Fall was here. Now today it was 90+ and humid, so we had the air on, and now I feel a sore throat coming on. I'm hoping this immune support will help keep us healthy.

Heather S. says …

Great find, I really enjoy this series! Going to listen to more now!

Jennifer says …

Good to see coverage for back to school. We are still adjusting to the transition, oddly enough my kids are less interested in fruits as the weather turns cooler here. I guess their systems are naturally macrobiotic! I'll try some supplements to make sure they still receive vitamins C/B as cold season approaches.

Mary says …

Jill- We already have the colds setting in as well. All the kids of the school in classrooms together + the common air system just stirs all the germs together. I'm hoping the supplements keep our kids clean.

Pamela Hansen says …

my daughter has a suppressed immune system so this podcast really helped me find more ideas to keeping her healthy especially during school years

Cecily says …

Thanks for your useful podcast. Here comes another school season and immune support of children becomes important again.
