Lots of people are choosing to go with non-dairy milks these days. At Whole Foods Market, we have watched the non-dairy milk category sprout significantly over the last couple of decades. While some people avoid dairy products altogether, there are a lot of folks who are choosing non-dairy milks even if they eat dairy at other times. And this is all good for everyone because the options for non-dairy milk keep getting better and tastier! We look at our product mix all the time and we recognized a need to enhance our non-dairy milk set to make sure we were providing you with affordable, organic options. We always prioritize organics, as we feel that they are the healthiest, most eco-friendly and highest quality products we sell. This is especially important for products that our customers consume daily, like non-dairy milks. After months of behind the scenes wrangling, we are thrilled to present a host of new options for you. Introducing:

  • 365 Everyday Value Organic Soy and Almond Milks -available only at Whole Foods Market
  • Earth Balance Organic Soymilk - currently available only at Whole Foods Market

And here's the scoop on why these will make great additions to your day.

365 Organic Everyday Value Almondmilk Made from American-grown organic almonds, this milk is enriched with vitamin D and calcium and is a smooth, nutritious non-dairy beverage that tastes great with cereal, smoothies, or by the glass. It's available in Original, Vanilla and Unsweetened flavors - so there's sure to be one that hits the spot for your household. Try starting your day with our Mixed Fruit Smoothie recipe featuring our Almondmilk...it's quite tasty.

365 Organic Everyday Value Soymilk - Light We've added new Light soymilk in Original and Vanilla varieties to our 365 Organic Everyday Value line of non-dairy milks. Look for our new soymilk twin packs if you're seeking double the value in organic beverages. Our soymilk is made from whole organic soybeans grown in the USA using non-GMO seed. Creamy, smooth and enriched with calcium and vitamins, they are a delicious and affordable way to boost your morning smoothie. For a nutrient-dense and affordable treat try our Light Soymilk in this Get Your Greens Smoothie recipe. A smart choice for cereal, smoothies, baking or simply by the glass, our 365 Organic Everyday Value non-dairy milks are all lactose, cholesterol, gluten and dairy-free, and are enriched with calcium and vitamins. Not to mention organic and sourced from American farms, at a great price.

Earth Balance Organic Soymilk We're also really excited about some new non-dairy milk products from Earth Balance, a leading producer of natural spreads and nut butters. Earth Balance has agreed to work with us for an exclusive launch of its new line of organic and Non-GMO Project-verified* refrigerated soymilk now available in our stores nationwide! Available in Original, Vanilla, Chocolate and Unsweetened varieties, this smooth and creamy refrigerated soymilk is vegan, free of lactose, cholesterol, dairy, gluten and is an excellent source of calcium and vitamin D.

Earth Balance is also the first refrigerated soymilk to utilize the rigorous practices of the Non-GMO Product Verification Program. GMO stands for "genetically modified organisms" and there are a lot concerns from our customers about products made with GMOs, not to mention that GMOs are not allowed in organic products. You will see the "Non-GMO Project Verified" seal on a number of products in our store, and we expect that number to increase dramatically in the near future. Earlier this year, we announced the enrollment of all of 365 and 365 Organic Everyday Value products in the Non-GMO Project Product Verification Program. Now you can shop knowing that all these new non-dairy milks meet Whole Foods Market's strict quality standards. Give them a try and let us know what you think!

*The non-GMO Project was created by leaders representing all sectors of the organic and natural products industry, including manufacturers, consumers, processors, distributors, farmers, seed breeders and retailers - including Whole Foods Market. The Non-GMO Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing consumers with information about GMO risks and to providing a process-based program that identifies products that comply with the Project's consensus-based definition of non-GMO. The non-GMO Project allows product suppliers who comply with the program's strict requirements to include the non-GMO Project Verified seal on product packaging.

I am glad that cost it's being taken into consideration because these non dairy products can be pricey.

What about Oat Milk? I have been searching unsuccessfully in CT for it. Over it the UK they have a brand called Oatly. It only has oats, water, and sea salt as ingredients...Currently I have to make my own Oat milk to use. Would love to start seeing this show up on the shelves!

It would be helpful if the nutritional information for these products were also posted.

I was given some 365 organic soymilk and it was ok flavor wise and it was a little thick but it was ok to eat and then one day I had peaches ready to eat, several as a matter of fact, so skin and all I put into the blender with the 365 organic soymilk and I must tell you I blended it on "frappe" it was one or the best smoothies that I ever tasted. The next day I combined blueberries and it was "to die for also". Thanks Catherine

As a mom of 4 kiddos, the list of allergens seems to keep growing. It has been an expensive and time consuming job to keep these lil' punkins healthy and safe. Thank you WFM for making my job easier. :)

I clicked print for your coupon and got 4 pages of paper. There must have been a better way but I didn't see it. P.

I am happy to find "non-dairy" milk choices, however, I have to limit my calicum intake - I have one kidney and can not have a lot of calicum (I attempt to keep it under 4%/day!). I really would appreciate to find more non-dairy milk without the "additional" calcium. It has taken a long time to find breads (need to be fresh made) and cerels and other food stuffs that do not include calcium additives. so, please try to have some soy milks that don't add calcium (like the original Soy Dream non-dairy milk) and I will be a happy camper! thanks.

Thank you, my 4yr old is allergic to cows milk and soy milk. He loves almond milk. It is very expensive to care for him as him allergy list is extremly long. Any tips on casen, gluten, dairy, soy, yeast, nut,and egg free products that really taste good?

I switched to non dairy milk a few years ago and haven't looked back since. It still surprises me though when I meet people who have never tried it. For those who subscribe to the Whole Food newsletter, like myself, they would have gotten a buy one get one free coupon. Thanks for that.

So happy to see 365 get on board with the Almond Milk. The soy controversy leave me avoiding soy milk - until someone can clear it up for me! We enjoy the Diamond brand - but it's still not organic. Now - what about this idea that California is thinking about nuking almonds? :(

Since I am a breast cancer survivor, I don't use soy. I don't think women who are post-menopausal should use it either. I did, not knowing I had breast cancer. Now I take Femera @ $400+ a month to keep down estrogen, which soy encourages. I am so very grateful to be able to go to your stores and obtain soy-free products, such as Earth Balance, the rice and almond, etc drinks, and products. I tell any woman who will listen to follow my suit. Thanks.

Kathy O'Meallie says …

I thank you for making your Almond Milk WITHOUT Carageenan Gum - my son is sensitive to it and it seems to be the thickener of choice on lots of products including non-dairy products. If you can help in having manufacturers use an "alternative" gum (something more digestive friendly) in their products, that would be very beneficial to our family. From what I have read about carageenan gum, it can be detrimental to the digestive system without any health benefits. Thank You!

How about a lactose free organic milk option? We sometimes find a Horizon's brand at Safeway and see that Lactaid offers an organic version but I've never seen it at our Sacramento-Arden store.

Howard Pelham says …

Perhaps you could offer a coupon where one can print JUST the coupon, thereby saving expensive ink! This is one coupon I won't be redeeming. Of course, if I made enough money to have a smart phone I COULD use the coupon. Discriminate much?

Deborah Dillard says …

Four pages had to print to get the cereal coupon. Couldn't your web guys make it so a click on the coupon and only the coupon prints. Simply way to save paper.

paig292 says …

@Deborah We're definitely going to work on the whole printing thing for the next time we do something like this. We want to make sure we do it in a way that provides the coupon as a special benefit for our newsletter subscribers only and one that can't be sent around the internet to just anybody. It's a bit challenging technically, but we appreciate the feedback and will work on it!

I buy Oatly oat milk in London for my husband. we spend the winter in Miami where I would also like to be able to buy it (it is organic, and the only ingredients are oats, water and sea salt). please can you stock it in the US. thank you.

says …

@Peggy Thank you for suggesting that Whole Foods Market stocks Oatly Oat Milk. Because much of the company’s product sourcing is done locally and regionally, I would encourage you to reach out to your local store directly with your request. This flexibility allows every one of our stores to best serve the needs and requests of local shoppers. Copied below is the link to help identify your community's Whole Foods Market and their contact information. Again, thank you for your suggestion. http://wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/

@DELORIS - Since our products differ between stores, check with your local store directly to see what they have in stock.

Most almond milk brands have only one gram of protein per 8 ounces, rendering my morning "protein drink" not much of one. "So Delicious Almond Plus Unsweetened" has 5 grams per 8 oz. I used to order it through Amazon but it's no longer available. What almond milk brands are available at Whole Foods and how many grams of protein per 8 oz? thanks

Nikki - Community Moderator says …

@KATHY - Our exact product options will differ between stores. Check with your local store to see what brands they have in stock.

Carlton Willacey says …

Where can I purchase Dairy free chocolate.

Please return Earth Balance Soy Milk to the offerings at the Charlottesville Virginia store. There is no tastier Soy Milk available, a superior product!

Katherine says …

I have not been able to find Earth Balance soy milk in any central Denver stores. Have you stopped stocking it?

Nikki - Community Moderator says …

@KATHERINE - Our buying is done at the store and regional office. Have you been able to check with the store directly? If not, I would suggest checking with the dairy buyer directly to see if this is temporarily or permanently out of stock.
