Summer Giveaway: Mountain Valley Spring and Sparkling Water

At Whole Foods Market®, we love sharing good food and drink. Whether it’s a peak-of-the-season berry, a team member creation from our bakery, sausages made in house or a new grocery discovery, we love celebrating great flavors and products. But we don’t just want to tell you about it; we want you to enjoy it too. So, we’re doing a series of summer giveaways through mid-August.

Thank you to everyone who entered the giveaway. Congratulations to our winner Nan W. from California!

Sweet sodas, fruity smoothies and herbal ice teas seem to be an arm’s reach away during the summer, but sometimes nothing refreshes like water. That’s why we’re giving away a case of nature’s perfect thirst quencher. Read on to find out how to enter to win. Bottled at the spring in Hot Springs, Arkansas since 1871, Mountain Valley Spring Water is America's oldest continually operating bottled water company.

Today, they offer spring and sparkling water. This is no ordinary spring. Protected by approximately 2,000 acres of natural forest lands, the Mountain Valley spring is the deepest natural spring currently operating in the contiguous 48 states.

Geologists have determined that the water takes up to 3,500 years for the rain falling on Cedar Mountain to travel to the aquifer and return as Mountain Valley Spring Water. Yup, 3,500 years! So the natural filtering of this ancient water and the minerals it collects along the way likely make it different from many other options out there.

Maybe it’s the taste from the long filtering process or the depth of the spring or maybe it’s something else all together, but Mountain Valley Spring Water has collected quite a fan club including the White House, where 13 US Presidents have served it. It has also twice been named “Best Tasting Non-Carbonated Bottled Water in the World” at the Berkley Springs International Water Tasting Competition. (Is it just me or is there a joke about the judging panel going out for drinks after the competition somewhere here?)

Available in 1-liter recyclable glass bottles, Mountain Valley Spring Water is naturally sodium free and certified Kosher and Pareve for Passover by the Orthodox Union. Whether you’re enjoying it straight up, mixing the sparkling with your favorite juice or serving it to a President, Mountain Valley Spring Water and Sparkling Water are refreshing additions to summertime.

Why are you so thirsty this summer? Tell us in the comments below by Tuesday, July 9 and we’ll pick a winner at random to receive a case of Mountain Valley Spring Water or Sparkling Water (winner’s choice)!

The fine print: No purchase necessary. Promotion ends July 9, 2012, 11:59 PM CDT. Must be a legal resident of the US or Canada (except in Quebec, where it is void) age 18 or older to participate. Taxes on prize, if applicable, are the responsibility of the winner. Employees of Whole Foods Market, Inc., are not eligible. Void where prohibited.

Why am I so thirsty? Well, this summer heat has definitely contributed to so many people becoming dehydrated very quickly. Drinking water, and a lot more in the summer is essential to staying hydrated and refreshed. But more importantly, it can help stave off hunger between meals, help you eliminate toxins from your body, and keep your skin looking glowy! I love Whole Foods, and would love to try a "new" water to add to my everyday water consumption! Yay Whole Foods! Keep up the great work! :)

This is from my dog Sherman who makes me want to drink more water every day. "I wish you could hear me lapping up the water. It will want to make you thirsty for some Moutain Valley Spring Water. I am always thirsty being a german shepherd dog and having Mountain Valley Spring Water quenches my thirst every time. I lap it up until my entire bowl of water is gone and then I look up for more. It's the best water I have ever tasted. Woof Woof "

I'm originally from N.E. Michigan and I am now living in Texas. Currently I'm 4 months pregnant and the weather is only getting hotter. I would love some spring water since my sense of taste is so acute and I tend to get dehydrated if my water tastes undesirable.

I love playing in the garden to the point that I'm not interested in going inside to eat or drink anything. I'm so absorbed in checking out my tomatoes, picking my peas, and weeding the yard and that's when the thirst kicks in. There's nothing better than a giant, ice-cold glass of lemonade made with Mountain Valley Sparkling Water!

Summer is usually the best time in San Francisco to get in some running time. I normally don't drink a lot of water, but after the workout, you can bet that a whole bottle and half will be gone in under a minute (or two). The quality of water can definitely be tasted in this situation, so I would love a case to drink and share with my running buddies.

I have visited Hot Springs, AR, and it is magical. The Buckstaff bath house uses the water from the spring and it is remarkably rejuvenating. I felt 10 years younger after absorbing its qualities and drinking Mountain Valley water. I had read that Frank Sinatra would drink nothing else. So, I have been a fan for decades and am so glad that you are carrying the best water on the planet. I would feel heavenly drinking it and sharing it with family and friends who have never tasted this treat! I might be a little decadent and use some bubbly as a foot soak... Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. Thanks!

Jennifer says …

Marj says …

Howdy Nothing like water to quench your thirst. I have Ozarka with me at all times all year living here in hot dry central Texas but would love to try Mountain Valley.

Jeff S. says …

I can't think of anything healthier or less expensive to drink than water. The fact that Mountain Valley Spring water is so pure and not contaminated in any way makes it even more appealing! The weather here is supposed to hit a record high temperature for the entire month of June (ever!) this coming Friday. Having this much water would certainly be a boost while taking breaks cutting the grass and when I attend outdoor events, taking a cooler with me. I'm big on recycling so being able to do so with the glass bottles is an added benefit to the environment. Thank you Whole Foods!

Rhonda says …

Driving home in the afternoon in this 100 degree heat makes everyone thirsty! It's nice to just lean back once you get home with a refreshing, but simple natural drink!

Maureen Davis says …

This is my favorite kind of bottled water. I like that fact that the water is in glass bottles, not plastic.
