We’re all a-Twitter

You may have noticed that we’ve been getting a bit friendly out here on the interwebs. With the launch of Whole Story, our new Facebook page and our new Twitter account, we’ve been busy looking for ways to connect with you! In celebration of recently hitting the 1,000th-follower mark on Twitter, we thought it would be cool to give back to our Twitter followers. Here’s the skinny: Follow us on Twitter (simply sign up for an account if you don’t have one and then go to http://twitter.com/wholefoods and click the “follow” button). You don't need to follow us on Twitter to win, but it'll help you keep updated on what's going on. There will be two ways to earn a $25 Whole Foods Market gift card by following us on Twitter! First, once a week we’ll announce (on Twitter only!) a store location, a start time, and a “secret pass phrase.” If you’re close to this location, go there, walk up to customer service and tell the team member the pass phrase. The first five people who show up will get a gift card and once they’re gone that’s it, so best to be quick (but safe!). The second way to earn a gift card will be to tweet (making a Twitter post) about Whole Foods Market. Every day of the work week we’ll pick one Tweet that’s particularly funny or interesting and we’ll retweet it, direct message the winner and award a $25 gift card. Sound like fun? Let us know that you think! We’ll be doing all this through the month of August and perhaps longer if there’s a lot of interest. Here’s to happy tweeting!

I can't get enough of WF, I must hit it 3-4 x a wk! They're changing the nature of business---forcing some companies to change, and giving small companies a chance. Here, here!!! But please, don't ever compromise your standards. My family and their health, Thank You!!!

I was just looking in the blogroll and noticed you linked to The Oil Drum, which is one of my favorite sites. :)! They are also on twitter: @TheOilDrum. You should follow them too, especially if you want to learn about energy and our future...not for the faint of heart! QW

This scheme is full of problems, like you said, you're already worried about safety. Plus, your customer service people are going to be distracted, and how do we know they won't call up their friends to pick up the gift cards? A way better way: Keep this Internet based, don't even bother customer service. You find xyz company to sponsor the gift cards, like let's say you want to do apple juice. You Twitter something like "Find the price of xyz apple juice at xyz store, enter the exact price into this form http://tinyurl/blah" To claim your prize you must go to the store, find the product (probably you will buy it) and then you go to the web link that has the form where you enter the price of the item, then you enter your address and the giftcard is sent to you. Post all the winners on that page in realtime. Do only one gift card for each item, that way you know nobody is cheating by telling their friends about the web form. If you don't use my idea I'm calling HEB ;-)

As a lifetime WF shopper (except for those dark days when I left Texas and you still hadn't arrived in NYC), I have to say that I love seeing you on Twitter--somehow it makes me feel connected to home. Happy tweeting indeed!

I was your 1,000 follower on Twitter! This sounds ,like a whole bunch of fun. I don't get to Whole Foods that often. maybe $25.00 will be just the thing to get me there. Looking forward to the secret phrase!
