I don't mind paying just a little more (maybe $2 max) if they would do the same great job as the toxic cleaners. A lot of times, you have to try several products before you find one that works. That's money down the drain!

Michelle says …

I chose to use green clean products to help ensure a better future for my baby girl. I don't want her exposed to toxic chemicals!

Heather Garcia says …

In my house I have found that we all seen to be dealing with an issue of how to get started being greener and I have tried to do a few things, reusable grocery bags and using less electricity and we only have one car, but I find I am afraid to switch my cleaners, what if they don't work as well as what I have, I would not want to have to start all over again. Winner a basket of this would give me the opportunity to try them without the damage to my household budget, and then I would know where to start when replacing all my chemical cleaners. I believe it would be better for my household and me with my lupus, to use natural stuff I am just afraid to switch!

Tiffany says …

My baby has grown into a toddler and now that she's touching everything, I want to make sure that everything she gets her hands on is clean AND safe!

Stina Gorsic says …

I use them because I have realized that 'home' doesn't end with one's house or apartment and that there are no 'others', we are all connected. :)

Jess the Mess says …

All it took for me was educating myself on the dangers of common household cleaners. As a pet-owner and a new aunt (that hopes to babysit often!), I am not willing to take any chances with my little loved ones. Plus the damage to the environment and the economy---there are so many reasons ALREADY out there to switch from conventional cleaning products to greener choices. It's a choice...but it's also a neccessity for a healthy life, environment, and economy.

Sarah L. says …

Because I am determined to never have cancer again!

Karin says …

I've pretty much made the switch because we're exposed to so many chemicals in our everyday lives that I wanted my home to be somewhat of a safe zone; chemical cleaners used to bother me with headaches and allergy symptoms. Since I've started using all natural, chemical free products, I don't get those reactions (though they are even stronger now when I get accidentally exposed to fumes at work or in public). Anyway, I feel better that I am making less polluting choices. I would love to try out some brands and products I haven't tried before!!

Sarah says …

I've already started to incorporate some green cleaning products and I love them! I started doing alot of research and realized how many toxins and chemicals are in those type of products and how unhealthy they are for us and the environment. And you can get things just as clean using green!

Amy warrick says …

My 83yr young mother lives with me. She has kidney disease and must be on dialysis. On top of that, she's a 3 time cancer survivor. So, with her numerous health issues, harsh chemicals is something we avoid. Even a little carpet freshener is enough to start her coughing. Would love a green package to get converted over!

sharon cerasoli says …

I am actually really contemplating converting everything I have, cleaning wise, to green products. It is expensive though to start, so winning this contest would be completely awesome...thanks for having this opportunity to provide a greener house for my family!

Jennifer Latham says …

With a new baby on the way it is more important than ever to use green cleaners. I am going to make an effort to pass these practices on to him so that he can be part of the change and shift we need to make as humans for a greener planet and environment.

Sandy Boomgaarden says …

Hi Whole Foods: I am doing a make over with all my cleaning products as I know form research that these chemicals are KILLING people and animals! So with two grandbabies in my home and two dogs and 3 humans I want them all to be as safe and healthy as possible. So please help me do a complete home make over with the gift basket of green cleaning products. Besides green is my favorite color!!!!

Heather Jaynes says …

I like to green up a little at a time and staring with some cleaning products seems like a great next step. Maybe there will be some extras for my office too.

angela says …

I would love to win the products. We try to use more green products. We have two dogs and do not want to harm them with the chemical fumes.

Karen says …

We clean with mostly homemade solutions (vinegar, castile soap, water) but I've yet to find sponges and trash bags that I'm happy with.

katie says …

My biggest hurdle is my husband being skeptical about green cleaners. Even though he's been using some for a while, he's still got it in his mind that he has to chlorox and ammonia everything.

Katherine says …

I live in a city with no Whole Foods Store. It is very hard to find Green products where I live. I would love the opportunity to try these products.

Celia zamora says …

I want to make my home cleaner, greener, and safer for my family... Since I've seen the positive effects of being a vegetarian and eating organic has done for my body!

Marnie Nemcoff says …

I would love to win this gift basket for my son. He has had asthma since he was 10 months old and I am constantly cleaning my house, and trying to use eco-friendly products. I already use your laundry detergent and was planning to make the switch for other products, so this is perfect! In the past year, my family has made great strides in becoming healthier eaters, exercising regularly, and now I am focusing on a healthier home environment, for us, and for our furry family members (2 cats and a big sweet dog). :) Thank you for your consideration!

Aaron Hatmaker says …

I not only use greener products for myself and my planet, but for my pets sake and the sake of Mother Nature. We need to leave everything better than we found it!

cjbestwick says …

Six years ago my lungs were destroyed by something unknown. I was a teacher for 14 years and had to go on disability last year because of how severe my lung disease became. I have used green products ever since my diagnosis and also eat whole foods. I will never again risk my household environment with chemicals in our foods or any other products we use. I drive 73 miles every four weeks to grocery shop at Whole Foods (since our town offers minimal healthy foods).

Karen says …

I buy green cleaning products whenever possible. If I have to venture into the non-green cleaning product aisle at a conventional supermarket, more often than not, I emerge with a headache and nausea. I've heard that this is called Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. At Whole Foods, I can spend the whole day in the cleaning product aisle and not feel any adverse effects. So for that, I thank you! I've already donated my conventional cleaning products to needy families and focus solely on green alternatives. I do have a hard time explaining the extra cost to the breadwinner of the family. I wish he could see that my health is more important than a few extra dollars.

Amber says …

With three dogs and two young children my house requires some serious deep cleaning fairly often. When using green products I am confident my family is safe and I am doing my best for the environment.

Eden Lackey says …

I would love to win. I am 33 and I just finished my battle against breast cancer. I am now cancer free and want to do as much as I can to stay that way forever. I feel there is so many horrible chemicals out there in so many things. It makes my heart dance to know there are better, healthier, safer things out there for us to use. Lately things have been difficult financially. So that would be a nice gift to have. Thank you for giving all of us the opportunity to possibly win such awesome things that are good for us.

Kristine Allcroft says …

I encourage all my clients to eliminate toxins in their homes by using all natural cleaning products. This helps to reduce allergy symptoms by controlling indoor air quality! We're lucky to have Whole Foods in our area so I can refer them to one stop shopping!

jen says …

I am working on making the switch to greener products all through my life. With greener cleaners I truly don't have to worry about what chemicals my boys are touching when they are doing their chores. Thanks Whole Foods!

dahlia gold says …

Being a Personal Chef in Montreal Canada,we dont's have a Whole Food stores would love you to come here, when I visit the US. it's always my first stop,I am very green when it comes to produce and cleaning detergents, most of my products are eco friendly.

Tori Morrill says …

Thank you Whole foods. Generous offer. I always use green products. I am a musician on a small budget but money never deters me from doing what's right by our planet. Maybe this is better for someone who needs more convincing, or a family with children but it sure would help me greatly. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Carrie says …

We are trying to have a "green" household for many reasons - primarily because our 3 year old son, Eli, has EXCEPTIONALLY sensitive skin. [He's got Uriticaria Pigmentosa which leaves him with hives all over his body all of the time (so if you see a cute little man with brown spots - don't run the other way! They aren't contageous!).] So, we try to find products that are not only good to the earth, but good to his skin, too!

Nicole says …

I need greener choices that will be just as effective as the old-school chemicals. Some things work just as well, but I've found others just don't cut it, so I've had to make concessions where necessary. One thing I know I definitely need to work on is reusable cloths instead of paper towels or disposable disinfecting wipes. Just because I purchase eco-friendly brands of those, doesn't mean they still don't have an impact on the environment once they hit the trashcan!

Stefanie says …

We are expecting a new baby in the next two weeks. A new set of organic cleaning products would be a great asset to this nesting Mommy to be! I love all of the products I have tried from Whole Foods, and would love to try out some new ones as well.

Katherine says …

I live in a city with no Whole Foods Store. It is very hard to find Green products where I live. I would love the opportunity to try these products. My family supports a Greener life and would love to show them these products.

Marti says …

I am set in my ways. What mother cleaned with is what I clean with. Unfortunately, this includes many "not-so-earth-friendly" products. I would love to have the chance to try these "green" products and maybe even prove that this "older" dog can be taught some new tricks (and cleaning methods!).

Maile M says …

I would love to make the switch for my children. But it is just a lot of money. I try to replace what I have used with healthier choices, but throwing out and buying all new seems like a waste and a lot of money.

Faye Hamilton says …

We've been trying to clean up our diet by eating organic. It makes sense if we are trying to keep chemicals out of our bodies, we should also try not to breath chemicals whenever possible. I have chronic bronchitis and have been hospitalized twice in the past year because of it. I am constantly researching to find ways to reduce the chemicals in my daily life from food to personal products. Using green cleaning products is one more way chemicals in my daily life.

Kristine says …

My family is trying to get healthy - starting to eat better, learn about healthier options, exercising, etc. I would love to add green cleaning too!

Terri Campbell says …

I use a few green cleaning products now but would love to add additional items. There are a number of options and I have not taken the time to compare them. I want to use green products because of the health benefits to not using traditional cleaners that include so many unnecessary chemicals. I wish more people would return to the more natural products that worked just fine for our grandparents' generation before the addition of toxic ingredients.

Jennifer Edwards says …

I would love a home full of non-toxic cleaning products. This would be a great way to get started!

Libby M says …

We try to be green as much as we can. Doing well with going vegan or vegetarian in the household, and you should see the recyling center set up in the kitchen. Currently we get greener cleaning supplies when they are on sale, but when you are in a rural town and I can only go shopping at whole foods when driving 6 hours to visit my family, you do what you can!

Sheree Young says …

I have started a new business selling made from scratch soups and sandwiches, and I'm trying hard to use local and organic ingredients, as well as biodegradable and compostable disposables. It is so hard to source these products at a good cost, but I believe in doing all we can to protect the Earth and each other. I have to say that the only conventional product I'm having trouble giving up is bleach. I just haven't found anything to whiten (clothes to cutting boards) as well. If I found a product that did the job, I would switch.

Stephen Wilkinson says …

We have used the other stuff for so long it has become a habit. We are making small changes to be more green and this would give us a chance to see how the work. The budget for "earth friend" items is small, but the cost of not moving in that direction is more costly in the long run. Happy trails, Stephen

Traci Palmer says …

I first became inspired to switch to green cleaners when I found out I was pregnant. I didn't like that my husband banned me from cleaning because products were unsafe. Now that our son is here, I want to continue to use products I feel safe and proud to use. I like that I don't have to worry if my son licks the kitchen floor anymore or if I use a cleaner on his high chair tray and place food directly on it. It's a huge stress reliever and a total blessing. I know that there are still changes that we could make and are making the move towards them this year.

Wendi Matt says …

I'm still learning about products so it's nice to have a store like Whole Foods to explain why certain things are better than others. The cost is the worst part so winning the give away would be awesome and help me switch the final products I need to a more earth friendly brand!!

Steph says …

I would love to win this basket and make my home greener! I am trying to inspire as many people as possible to take a greener initiative in their lives as well.

stephanie says …

I'm babystepping my way to "greener clean." I've replaced dryer sheets with felted wool balls. I use a hot steam cleaner for my floors, rather than chemicals. I've switched to more eco-friendly dishsoap. I'd like to try out different products to see which ones work- this would be a great way to test them out! PLease, please, please? :)

Cheryl Marlow says …

I love being green, and I would love to try out new cleaners. There are soo many out there and some do not work as well as others. It would be nice to see how well these work =)

Lulu E says …

With a baby due to come home on May 10, 2011. It is highly important to me that my home be greener and a safer enviornment for my bundle of joy.

Layla says …

i am inspired not only today but everyday with random events that happen. Whether it is the disgust I have when I see someone litter or the arrogance of someone who will not change their ways or even positive events such as a child speaking up and advocating for the environment. I think it is defendable when people make honest mistakes because they do not know better or do not have the resources to change but its blind ignorance that makes me furious. As a college student going into the field of education, I am constantly trying to reinforce good and positive behaviors and tie sustainability and awareness into curriculum and encourage others to do the same. By starting in communities with our youth, I hope to see change not only for a particular day or month but sustainable practice for everyday life. So hopefully I can put into practice what I preach by learning about other ways of being green with the products offered here.

i'm inspired to use greener products to clean my home. i have been diagnosed with a primary immune deficiency, and while much is not known why this happens to people, one theory involves exposure to toxic products. i want to pare down my exposure -- and my children's exposure -- to toxic products. i would welcome trying these out in my home :)
