Call me crazy, but we like it simple here at the Grantham home. When I buy a bag of cherries, I rinse them off and set them out for everyone to snack on as they please. A bowl full of cherries is never around for long. Yum....

I love eating cherries just by themselves for a good summer snack! It's like eating watermelon and spitting out the seeds...there's just something SO summery about it! For cooking, I like to do a cherry relish on organic chicken and a side of broiled kale chips!

Cherries are my favorite fruit especially rainier but who REALLY loves cherries is my dog, Gracie. This Yorkie poo would pass on a steak for cherries. When I bring them home she smells them and she lays in front of the refrigerator when she is not outside. While I am enjoying them she cries for a bite and of course I share on this treat because it's healthy. She layed there so much this year I moved her bed over next to the 'frig I enjoy them fresh or with yogurt and I drop them into my ginger ale.

I LOVE cherries! My favorite memory of cherries is when I was a kid and I went camping. We had a turnover iron set that you placed bread in, and added cherry pie filling and topped with another piece of bread. Then you put the iron over the campfire--a few minutes later-voila! Cherry turnovers (cobblers)! Yummy!

I'm baking a gluten free cherry pie right now! But, my favorite way besides raw on the porch is as a breakfast crumble topped with homemade yogurt.

I like to put frozen cherries in my post-run recovery smoothies, the anthocyanins are excellent anti-inflammatories and promote quick recovery.

Patricia Foster says …

How do I enjoy cheeries? I enjoy by savoring the best memory of my childhood..... climbing my next door neighbors cherry tree and picking his cheeries. It was an old, gnarled tree and didn't produce much, but each red cherry was heaven.

Fresh cherries from farmers market are our favorite!

Michigan Cherries are my absolute favorite fruit! Straight from the tree, in jams/jellies, ice-cream, pie, danish, on cereal, in iced tea, in salads, wonderful in a dark chocolate torte, and homemade fruit smoothies!! I haven't found anything that isn't better with Michigan Cherries! Fresh, flash frozen, dried, baked-in; any way is a good way to have Michigan Cherries~

My favorite way to enjoy cherries is sitting outside, eating them plain, and keeping three or four pits in my mouth to play with after I'm done eating.

Our neighbors had a tree and would share with the neighbors. I remember standing on a ladder trying to pick as many as possible because my mom made awesome cherry pie! I made my first one (by myself) when I was 10 - not as good as hers, but I was pretty proud of it.
