Love reading this BLOG. The first thing we pack is sun block. We love to snack on ham and cheese sandwiches and chips.

My favorite food to take to the beach would be some cold cuts and some watermelon.

Amanda says …

Watermelon, grilled pineapple, white wine (beer for the guys, and plenty of water! :)

Becky says …

Boiled peanuts, preferably the cajun ones! So delicious and salty which then requires a cold beverage to wash it all down.

Krista says …

Smore's!

Jen says …

My fave foods to bring to the beach....anything that quenches my thirst such as (all organic) berries, melons, grapes. Also love peanuts and granola for crunchy treats. Can't forget the water and coconut water too!!!

Hiroko Ortiz says …

My beach must-haves are sunblock, lots of fresh fruit, water, an obnoxious floppy hat, sunglasses and a book!!

Irene Noury says …

When we go to the beach we bring plenty of water, fresh fruit and fresh crunchie vegetables and sometimes nuts or a nice trail mix we make ourselves.

Vanessa Schoenecker says …

Watermelon! Watermelon alllll the way! It's so refreshing and sweet and delicious for a hot, sunny, summer day on the beach. You just have to watch out for the sand sticking to it ;)

I usually end up taking fruits, seems like the most enjoyable thing while out in the sun!

Kathy says …

Nothing is better than "light and refreshing" when it comes to beach snacks!

Linda Kramm says …

Fruit, Fruit and More Fruit. Love to have mouth-watering watermelon, or frozen grapes that you can suck on like tasty ice cubes. For those that like something crunky, trail mix is a good fit, and those who need something salty, mix nuts or pistachio are perfect snack!

Holly Keyser says …

I love to take water, Cliff Bars, and trail mix. We stay hydrated and we can "fill up" with these items that really stick with you. We feel good after eating these items and it enhances our experience at the beach.

Sherri Fincher says …

This list sounds delish ! Add some ice cold drinks, chicken salad sandwiches, deviled eggs, chips & dip, pickle wedges, salad & dressing, chocolate cake... hungry already ! :P

We travel to either Nova Scotia or British Columbia every summer to get away and enjoy the beaches. Our favorite beach picnic includes grapes, berries, organic juice boxes, crackers and low fat chips or pretzels. Along of course with reusable bottles filled with water to keep well hydrated. The most important item for the picnic is a bag to bring all the empty containers/boxes back home to recycle and not pollute the beaches with :D

Mary Kay says …

Beach fare favorites are fresh fruit and veggies, nuts and lots of water.

Kristen M. says …

This is a great gift basket idea. I struggle with healthy portable snack ideas when my family hits the beach. I usually bring apples or other fruit because my kids will actually eat healthily when they are famished and don't have any other choices. :)

Michelle says …

Sand-resistant treats! Pasta salad, granola or fruit bars, my biggest reusable water bottle filled with water or iced tea, soy jerky.

L CHU says …

Cold foods including: chicken, shrimp skewers with any/all of the following red peppers, pineapple, mushrooms, asparagus, apples, watermelon chunks, cherries, grapes, wheat pita and hummus and brownies for dessert!

Katie says …

lots of water and fresh fruit!

While visiting the shore with my family of six, I love to pack a bag filled with yummies. I include foods that come in their own packaging in order to keep sand off the food. Items such as bananas, frozen yogurt on the go packs, granola bars and water. This way the kids hands stay clean and there is no sand transferred to the food.

Jami Walsh says …

I like to take the same things I took as a kid. Fig bars, plums, apples, nectarines, pretzels, chipss, and a sandwich, usually something easy that I have in the house and of course a ton of water.

Hayes Minor says …

Nothing is more perfect than Whole Foods chicken salad in a container with crackers, some cheeses, fresh fruit and a bottle of Italian wine.

Trina Green says …

I love to go tubing down the Guadalupe River. Among the items besides water, I love chilled guacamole salsa made with 1 package Simply Organic Guacamole Dip Mix and 2 cups diced tomatoes. A zipper bag of tortilla chips does the trick. Anything needing chilling stays in large zipper bags within a recyclable insulated bag tied to my tube handle. Then there is fresh fruit medley! Pre-washed and stemmed red and green seedless grapes, whole strawberries, and blueberries in sandwich bags chilled. I make my own special trail mix with cool stuff according to the cravings of those I am with at the time. We are full as ticks floating gracefully down the river. Ah, this is the life!

Ben Roberts says …

I really love a good hearty Hummus - preferably homemade but I really do like the Whole Foods version nearly as much as my own! Paired with some veggie crudites, pita chips, and grapes it's a good day. Maybe a few chocolate chip cookies thrown in for good measure? I was just planning to go to the beach this weekend too!

Nicholas Anthony Montes says …

For a water-filled outing, I would love to have strawberries, kiwi and peaches for fruit. I also would enjoy to have chip and salsa for a filling snack with sugar-free diet soda. The main entree would have to be chicken fajita tacos, with fresh tomatoes and lettuce. Those sound so so scrumptious.

Lynnea says …

PRAWNS! whats better than the beach and the ocean and some fresh-caught [okay, so we bring it on ice] prawns?! maybe some tilapia sandwhiches...but prawns are cool, refreshing, and great with some cocktail sauce. YUM! :)

CarrieAustin says …

Cherries and grapes dipped in vanilla yogurt, pumpkin seeds, chicken Salad, almonds, pickled beets and a yummy assortment of cheeses!

Crystal says …

My favorite foods to take to the beach are fresh cherries and frozen grapes.

Joanna Smith says …

I love taking healthy snacks that won't melt or get too sandy. For example: apple slices with toothpicks & caramel dip, granola bars, pudding packs, or veggies with a dip!

Milagros Allende says …

My favorites are the fruits.

Lisa says …

fresh grapes, whole grain crackers, fresh cheese and lots of sparkling water.

Lauren I-S says …

Sunny says …

Too hot to eat! Plenty of bottled water.

Fruit that I've put in the freezer the night before!

Adina says …

I love juicy watermelon and oranges at the beach. I also like to bring blueberries and pasta salad with olives and broccoli.

ben says …

Fresh fruit is the way to go!

Joanne Schoonmaker says …

I love the lake (and the ocean) and I take a lot of water, and granola. I also like milled organic flaxseed, with vanilla yogurt. This would be great to win, and take my grandchildren to the lake and just exit with them... on a hot day.

Marjorie Yeager says …

My favorite food items to take to the beach are fresh fruits and veggies along with plenty of water.

Heidi Beyer says …

I love pretzels on the beach! Also, fresh fruit is the best when it's really hot out.

Cathy says …

My family and I love the beach! I have a two year old who is a total water bug and cries when we have to leave the ocean! It is so awesome to see the absolute joy in his eyes playing in the water and the sand. It makes all of your troubles go away to watch the innocence and pure happiness of a child! We love to bring Annie's cheddar bunnies, dried fruit, lots of water (to wash the salt and sand out of his mouth!) trail mix, and cereal bars.

Lurene Spencer says …

Always take lots of water. My favorite beach foods are crunchy - chips & granola bars, but it's nice to have juicy summer fruits too.

Suzanne says …

To the beach I'd bring along a lunch of curry chicken salad on pita and the "superfoods" wheatberry salad from your salad bar. A couple pieces of fruit like banana, strawberries and papaya, and some granola bars and we'll be all set!
