For any day out on the water, I love peanut butter (365 Natural Crunchy is the only way to go!) and banana sandwiches with a little honey. For a delicious and healthy dessert, any kind of fresh summer fruit like blueberries, strawberries, or watermelon. And of course, plenty of water!

Besides packing sunscreen, some H2O, and a good book, we always make sure to bring some refreshing fruit - watermelon, organic apples (we like Gala), berries, and when we get home, we cool off with some Ben and Jerry's! Gotta love summer!

The beach for us is on a lake or a pool. And in the middle of summer in the Midwest it gets hot! We stay hydrated with lots of water and fresh fruit--grapes, strawberries and blueberries while we can. If we have an ice pack, it's fun to pack a chicken curry salad with currants and water chestnuts for mom and dad, and wraps with peanut butter and bananas for our boys.

Nicole Nakata says …

Frozen grapes are the best for days at the beach! Plus some coconut water for a refreshing, re-hydrating drink.

Shannan says …

We always try to find a local farmers' market when we go to the beach so we can enjoy some local produce while we are there. I also pack some LARABARS just in case. What a great gift box!! Thanks for the chance to win it!

Carl Mead says …

Good old fashioned cucumber sandwiches.

watermelon is the perfect beach food, unless you get sand everywhere like I used to do when I lived in NJ so it was always a disaster. In order to combat it, nuts and water are the best snacks to have because even when sand gets in the bag you can have less with the nuts because you can get the sand off each individual one lol. the banana chips sound really good from this gift basket, i might have to pick those up as well. also the granola bars wow. i'm hungry now, i'm going to go eat some organic almonds i bought from whole foods today now after i just devoured 2 packages of the 1.99 blueberries that were on sale. viva whole foods!

I can almost smell the salt air wafting across the way and as I take it in, I am crunching on 365 Treasure Hunt trail mix whilst sitting on my large organic cotton beach towel. As I spy across the big blue Pacific Ocean I see the sunlight dancing on the breakers and dolphins jumping up acrobatically. I then remember, put on some additional Alba Botanica Sunblock to protect my skin. I work so hard at eating right nutritionally, filling myself up with 365 products, that I need to remember to protect my epidermis as well.

Susan Geist says …

Great list of fun stuff to have fun in the sun with. In Texas we have our beach outings inside the house next to the AC unit. The Sunblock will come in handy for that made dash from the store - car - house to avoid getting a sun burn nad heat stroke.

Sydney says …

My favorite foods to take to the beach are pre-assembled fruit "kabobs" with a chocolate fondue dipping sauce that can be warmed on a campfire (on beaches that allow those, of course!).

samantha Whitlam says …

I like taking lots of medium sized salads. Pasta, tomato, edamame, all of tem can be eaten warm or cold - so we dont have to worry if they heat up in the sun or cool down in the cooler. To drink - a little champaign and cran / orange / or goji or some coconut water and vodka. mmmmm Happy summer

Erin says …

I love to go to the beach and bring rice dreams vanilla ice cream with fresh strawberries and erewhon brown rice cereal. It makes a great beach day treat and tastes like strawberry cheesecake with a little crunch! It may melt a bit, but it still tastes wonderful!

Brooke says …

I love to bring granola bars- nothing fills you up fast and requires less prep then throwing a granola bar in your bag to keep the water fun going!

Shrikant Iyer says …

I love having a pesto salad with organic cherry tomatoes, arugula/watercress or a pesto sandwich with grilled chicken. Some delicious stevia sweetened lemonade or mixed fruit cocktail.
