Summer is just made for snacking. Fresh veggies are at their peak and a quick way to satisfy a sudden craving is to just rinse off some carrots, radishes, celery or other crunchy treats and dip 'em in hummus. Good for you, fast and oh so yummy!

I love a combination of prepared food and raw stuff. I like to do a little cooking: stuffed mushrooms and something sweet, maybe a pie. Then hummus, pita chips and veggies have to be there as well as some cheese and crackers. Don't forget the beverages.

We just had a gettogether, and I made little snacks out of cherry tomatoes, mini mozzarella balls, and fresh basil leaves skewered on a toothpick. it was a hit!

I love to get an assortment of cheeses from your yummy cheese selection. The Mt. Tam is to die for and so are your cheeses covered in coffee grounds, mmmm. throw some cured meats on the side, a variety of olives and pickles from the olive bar, and my favorite truffle honey....for the cheese not the olives. But whatever floats your boat.

Having a variety of snacks is great especially if you have vegan and meat eating friends. This year we will be having an A/C appreciation party for whoever the person was that invented the AC and we will be very close to the AC the entire party.

I love to have fresh seasonal sides made with local organic fruit and vegetables that I receive from my CSA co op each week. Last week I made some stuffed crimini mushrooms filled with barley, fresh goat cheese, and eggplant. The second side I made was a light and refreshing pickled cucumber and tomato salad tossed with quinoa. The third dish is a seaweed salad made with wakame, cucumber, carrots, sesame seeds, agave, and sesame oil. Yummmy!!

A house full of my great friends and family make my party time excellent! As far as "go-to" party snacks, I always make a chocolate dip with melted chocolate and cream & set out an assortment of fruits, pretzels, graham crackers and marshmallows for dipping. I also like making hummus and fresh salsa...can't forget the adult beverages too (what's a party without a couple great wines! My favorite varietal for this hot summer is definitely vinho verde from Portugal.). We're hoping to have our official housewarming party as brand new homeowners sometime in August, and this would definitely be a perfect accompaniment to our fabulous party time.

Organic fruits in their own skins work well as decorations, and can always be consumed by those hungry for sweets. Organic veggies make delicious snacks and salads. The fresher the better. The baked goods, such as pie, breads and deserts make any holiday extra special. Hot fun in the summertime! Thank you for all the quality foods and service.

We just celebrated my mother-in-law's 80th birthday on her apartment building's roof top deck! I brought a platter of tortilla pinwheels - 365 whole wheat tortillas spread with cream cheese, green chilis, jalepeno peppers, chili powder, cilantro and a little lemon juice - roll them up and cut them into bite sized little wheels. Dip in salsa! I also made homemade garlic and green onion hummus that guests dipped homemade pita chips in! It was a great party!! Cold Prosecco was on hand too!

Claire Ashdjian says …

Parties have to include dips and pittas, home made chicken nuggets (made by coating with polenta and baking in the oven) and french stick with real butter!

Kim B says …

We are huge foodies, so I always have an array of cheeses, a few snappy apps - like bacon wrapped dates... and of course there is always chips, salsa and guac!

Stephanie says …

Gotta love finger foods, cheese and crackers, chips, deviled eggs, hummus, guac & salsa, veggies. I love my guests to relax and fill up!

Kat Foster says …

I always make this amazing dip my mom makes, too! It's just cream cheese, spicy sausage, and rotel... put it in a mini crock pot until melted, and serve! DELICIOUS!

Zalene says …

My favorite summer party is a 'potluck dip & dip'. Everybody is happy and lingering together helps folks to feel connected throughout the year! (dips 2 eat & dip in the pool) ;-)

Lisa says …

I have to say that the go-to at our house is the layered dip for baked chips. We don't do it full on traditional, though, because we omit the guacamole (mom's allergic! =S). Instead, we also make cold broccoli salad. Gotta get some green in there somehow!

Jennifer Yu says …

Homemade guacamole and fresh tortilla chips always get my party started. Oh and can't forget the Mexican beer.
