My favorite kind of party to host is a 'Jazz & Shiraz' .... Dress up in your best, bring a bottle of your favorite wine and dine on great cheese and chocolate fondue. Yum!

Lots of my husband and I's homebrewed beer. Our friends and family love enjoying something that is organic, fresh and unique that they can't buy in a store!

Heather says …

Cheese fondue with lots of fresh vegetables and bread to dip, followed by a decadent dark chocolate fondue with fruit and nuts!

Just recently experimented with a new black bean and corn salsa recipe, and it has been a hit! Definitely my new go-to!

I like to have nice finger foods...sounds kitschy but crackers topped with all sorts of goodies taste good AND they're not messy. I hate going to a party and seeing foods that are tricky to eat!

Fresh guacamole (of my simplest recipe: avocado, lime juice & tony chachere's seasoning) + Tortilla chips + Any Whole Foods Salsa + Fresh Margarita (tequila, lime juice, pineapple juice, salt rim) Love the Party time!

We always have to have a variety of cheeses. I have 4 nephews and they all like to snack on cheese!

Party time definitely calls for some fresh italian bread and dipping oils! Plus a plate of freshly skewered fruitkabobs (pieces of strawberries, watermelon, mozzarella, and basil leaves drizzeled with a balsamic reduction). And strawberry mojitos, of course!

Laine Hardy says …

My go-to party snack is hummus, tweaked for the season. Fall, its a light pumpkin hummus. Winter calls for extra garlic + sun dried tomatoes. Springtime mixes it up with an earthy green lentil hummus. And, of course, the tastiest black eyed pea hummus with mesquite olive oil + black olives to go with a summer bbq here in ATX!

Party snacks are best when they include fresh fruit & veggies that can be combined with other prepared dips, meats and breads. These choices tend to be healthier and easier to re-use in leftovers. Better yet, everyone feels good when they have great tasting whole food without the guilt!

Cheese and crackers is a definite. We take out the fruit plate and any drinks we can find. This month we're doing a benefit fashion show for animal shelters and serving all that plus half price drinks! September 10 at Margerley's they'll even be a DJ come join and save animals!!!

I believe the snacks make the party. I love having a mix of sweet and salty. This usually means a plate of crackers and veggies with a mix of chocolates and fruit. This way, you conquer everyone's craving.

Jenn says …

I like a mix of sweet, salty, and savory -- currently what I've been serving when folks come over is a watermelon and cucumber salad with crumbled feta on top, then a salami and cracker tray. My stomach is growling just thinking about it!

Baked havarti. As simple as that. It is warm, gooey, and exploding with flavor. You can eat it by itself or pair it with pretzels, chips, or crackers. The best part is that it is extremely easy to make!

When i throw a party i serve the following: Baked pita chips and hummus, sa;sa, edamame, fruits with yogurt dip, veggies with ranch dip or yogurt, different cheeses (my fav is a garlic kind i find in your store!), vareity of crackers. That was just the appetizers! The main course love to bake fish or chicken with veggies with brown rice. and for dessert either carrot cake or bread pudding! For apps I serve pita chips, hummus, vampire Killer kale, then some sweet, juicy cantaloupe to balance out the garlicky flavor.

Salsa? Nuts?? Olives? 2 kinds of olives??? I'm there!!! I'll just add plenty of iced herbal teas, and half-frozen slushy-style juices. Partying in Texas means lots of icy drinks! Party on!!

I love hot smoking trout or other fresh caught fish with friends. The fish cooks fast and can be flaked off as needed. It can be put on crackers, or in fish tacos, etc. Simple to do and it impresses the guests.
