Peppered turkey burgers, chicken marinated in lemon and tarragon and cut up veggies. For dessert: grilled pineapple

Growing up, my family spent the summer basically outside at the grill. All our friends from the neighborhood would come together most evenings, bringing some sort of offering for the group feast. We would rotate around the neighborhood, from one grill to another, enjoying the fresh, simple, delicious food and amazing company. My favorite dish of all time and my constant request when my husband and I visit my family - grilled peaches. They are heaven!

We love steak on the grill! And roast chicken. During the summer we grill several times a week. That way, my husband does the cooking! :-)

one of my fave things to grill for summer is grilled pineapple chicken burgers and grilled strawberry-balsamic shortcake (or peach!). Bring on the summer grilling I say!

Summer time brings the sweet aroma of grilled steak, burgers, chicken, fish, shrimp and veggies to my house. My steaks and chicken are always marinated for at least 24 hours before they sizzle on the grill. Fresh cut zuchinni, asparagus, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, corn and jalepenos compliment the beautifully grilled meats. My guests always come back for more and never leave left overs. My better half like to pair her food with wines, I pair mine with beer. I love this time of year!

Our favorite and flavorful way to make summer sizzle on the grill are with NY strip steaks marinated and basted on the grill with a mixture of steak sauce, crushed garlic and roasted red onions. Combined with lightly sliced potatoes, basted with a mixture of melted butter, olive oil and rosemary, along with corn on the cobb being basted with its own mixture of melted butter, horseradish sauce and chives. Can't beat the summer BBQs !!!!

Grilling marinated Tri-tip roast and veggies is one way to celebrate summer. We do a lot of herb-based marinades with locally (backyard grown) cilantro, thyme, basil, and oregano. And we enjoy all this with mojitos made of garden-grown mint. Yum. We love summer and we love grilling and we love Whole Foods.

Walking to the grocery store with my daughter to pick up some 'grillables'. (corn on the cob, turkey burgers) and some homemade cole slaw. (1 head shred. cabbage, 1/2 shredded red cabbage, 2 carrots grated, mayo, salt, pepper, and 1/4 cup of organic honey!) Mini-cookout in our apartment courtyard. So fun!

The best thing about grilling in the summer is, you grill outside, the kitchen doesn't get hotter than it already is. Anything that can help staying cool is a plus. Helle

On a warm Sunday afternoon, there is nothing better than filling up the grill with chicken, veggies, a flank steak and maybe some shrimp. Because my work week is busy, I love to fuss around in my yard while tending this Sunday Q, then having all the great stuff I grilled to eat all week long, YUM!

Summer BBQ's enjoying the outdoors, homegrown veggies from the garden, marinated meat & seafood, and wine with friends...or just the two of us. Slows us down & reminds us how good life is!

Tie several stalks of dried herbs together (sage, rosmary, thyme, any combination) and use to brush marinade onto food. Adds tons of no-calorie flavor and you get to use all the herbs.

Eyes on the chicken or eyes on the egrets; eyes on the grilled veggies or eyes on the gators; eyes on the grilled peaches or eyes on the blue herons....decisions, decisions when grilling on our deck overlooking the lagoon at Callawassie Island, SC. Regardless of my decision...it's viewing and eating paradise.
