I savor the Summer as well as the people I invite to my barbeque. Being an artist I am highly visual and relish the colorful presentaion and preparation that I create. I support locally grown vegatables and fruits for salads and seserts I create. I purchase fresh fish or chicken that is hormone free. I always marinate, use exotic spices, and fresh herbs that add zest and flavor to the barbeque feast. Wine, herbal iced tea always on the menu. ALL come to the party with mouth watering and leave with a night to digest and remember during the lazy days of Summer!

Grill the following: Chicken and slice when done, sausage then cut in slices, a slab of ham & pineapple slices. Put in separate bowls. Slice up (don't grill) fresh garden tomatoes,Basil and a package of shredded cheese. Roll out pizza dough cut in 4ths spray with olive oil - grill one side however you like it. Take it off the grill put it on a plate raw side down, then top with any of the toppings above drizzle with EVOO slide back on the grill until the cheese is melted and the bottong is done. Cook everything ahead keep warm and have a buffet for your family and friends they all love to creat their own pizza. yum!

The best way for me is after a long day on the lake, gathered around the grill with my closest friends, drying out while grilling corn on the cob, burgers, sausages, and veggies for me (the lone vegetarian). That is heaven on earth.

I love to grill fresh fruits from the farmer's markets in order to make delicious toppings for burgers or pork, or to blend with some mayo to make fabulous aioli. Grilled banana splits are another summer favorite!

I love grilling tuna steaks or cod fish. Tuna steaks take approximately 2 minutes on each side, cod fish steaks may take a bit longer, like 3-4 minutes each side. Grilling them for longer may leave them dry, a real pity. Top them with mango, red pepper, cilantro, and lemon sauce. The cod fish is great for fish tacos with avocado!

One of my favorite childhood memories of summer is helping my dad grill. I'd pull out a folding chair, grab the comics and keep my dad company. Sometimes he'd even let me flip the burgers, a big deal for a little girl! Now I'm out on my own without dad around to help me, but still enjoy trying my hand at the grill. I agree with other posters, grilled fruit is the best!

I just moved to Oahu and have pretty much nothing, so it would be SOoooo.... GREAT to win the Summer's Best Grilling Gift Basket! I love fish taco's <3 Grilling mahi mahi and then the corn tortilla's for a few sec's on both sides brushed with a little olive oil. Then believe it or not finely chopping cabbage and letting it soak up Sesame/Asian dressing for a bit. Add cabbage to taco's with fresh tomato, onion and cilantro, you're good to go for a refreshing dinner on a warm evening, yummy :)

Have everyone choose exactly what they want to grill and help in the grilling. Have different types of meat available - chicken, steaks,... - and have lots of vegetables ready to be cooked. This way everyone gets what they like and it reduces waste too.

Summer means fresh, new, local crops are here! Farmers' markets abound and produce sections of grocery stores are loaded. My favourite is lamb, beef, or chicken kebabs, basted with Asian-inspired sauces & grilled to perfection, served on fresh cold lettuce leaf wraps with kimchee (spicy pickled veggies) OR with grilled peppers, mushrooms & onions. YUM! I save pork for the weekends! Nothing entices the senses of the entire neighbourhood more than the smell of a whole pork shoulder, dry-basted and slow-smoked over wood chips all day. Pulled pork with tangy BBQ sauce & creamy cole slaw on fresh buns! DOUBLE YUM!

My favorite is making fish tacos on the grill! Just season the fish (cumin and lime is great) and grill...then heat up the tortillas on the grill when the fish is almost done. You can even grill veggies for the tacos while the fish is cooking. Yum!
