Founded in March 2013, Atlanta farm-to-table chef Nick Melvin, produces and sells great tasting traditional southern pickled vegetables for retail and food service. Chef Nick Melvin can trace his lifelong passion for the southern tradition of pickling to his childhood, when he would stand his in mother’s New Orleans kitchen and pickle vegetables from the family garden. The love of preserving fresh, colorful vegetables stuck with him through his culinary education, evolution, and adventures - and he has stayed true to the art he learned from his mother all of those years ago.
The funds from this loan will be used to purchase additional equipment in order to have enough capacity to be placed in Specialty bulk olive bars throughout the South – items will include flavors like mean green tomatoes, pickled okra and drunken cherry tomatoes.
