Heidi Ho! Organics
Portland, OR - Founded 2011
Heidi Ho is a plant-based vegan food company headquartered in Portland, Oregon. The Heidi Ho recipes were created by Founder Heidi Lovig, who started working on this project when she was hired to rewrite a vegan menu. During this time, becoming vegan herself, she was disappointed by the vegan cheeze options available and decided to create her own. Heidi Ho Veganics was founded in 2011 by Heidi and her partner Lyssa Story and picked up soon after by the Pacific Northwest region. A mission-driven, Youth Trade certified company, Heidi Ho strives to produce plant based vegan foods that are healthier for you and better for the planet. They strive for carbon neutrality and choose locally grown ingredients with sustainable practices whenever possible.
Heidi Ho Veganics has created a range of plant-based vegan cheese alternatives that are made from sustainably sourced ingredients, without any additives, fillers, or unnatural preservatives. Made from ingredients like hazelnuts and chia seeds, Heidi Ho products are dairy and gluten-free and many of them are also soy-free. Even more exciting - their products have similar characteristics of dairy cheese; firm enough for grating and meltable like real cheese! Their line includes hazelnut-based chipotle cheddar, smoked gouda, monterey jack, soy-based feta crumbles, a new cultured cashew chevre, and a chia cheeze sauce which is a fantastic nacho cheese alternative.
They used the funds from their first loan to buy new equipment that increased production and allowed them to expand into three additional regions. They received a second LPLP in 2014 in order to buy additional equipment necessary to launch nationally!
