Located in Cutchogue, New York (the North Fork of Long Island), Satur Farms is an independently-owned, farm dedicated to growing the finest vegetables and culinary ingredients. Their mixed greens, spinach and other vegetables can currently be found in the Northeast and Florida Regions.
Satur Farms, owned by chef Eberhard Müller and his wife Paulette Satur, began when they purchased their original farm on the North Fork of Long Island in 1997, with the intention of growing some vegetables and herbs for Chef Müller's restaurant. Colleagues in New York City asked if they might be able to buy their produce, and the farm as a business became a reality. They started working with the Northeast Region for over 5 years and have continued to deepen their partnership and grown their business in our Northeast stores!
Eberhard Müller has been a renowned four star chef in New York City for over 30 years. He is now at the farm full-time, taking on the challenge of growing produce and supplying other chefs with the raw ingredients that he found difficult to procure at a freshness level meeting his exacting standards. At the same time, they've become an agricultural force and economic driver on Long Island, leading the governor to have chosen Paulette to sit on his economic development council. A mission driven company, Satur Farms is committed to sustainable farming, not only in relation to their fields and the safe production of their vegetables, but also ensuring their employees receive livable wages.
Satur Farms will use the funds from the Local Producer Loan Program to continue expanding their farm to keep up with the burgeoning demand for their product. Specifically, they will purchase a new well, irrigation piping and a new food safety tracking software system to ensure their product is safe and fresh when it arrives on the shelves!
