Alexis’s Bourbon Meat Chili

Serves 8-10

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 lb Steak
  • 2 slices Applewood Smoked Bacon
  • 2 Tbs Byron’s Butt Rub
  • 2 Tbs Minced Garlic
  • 1 Tbs Cayenne Pepper
  • 2 Tbs Chipotle pepper minced
  • 1 vidalia onion
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 tbs dried parsley
  • 1 Tbs chili pepper
  • ½ cup Wild Turkey Bourbon
  • 1 lg can crushed tomatoes
  • ½ c brown sugar
  • ½ Teas fresh basil minced
  • Pinch of oregano
  • Olive oil to brown meat
  • 1 can black beans and 1 can kidney beans
  • Salt to taste

METHOD

  1. Brown the ground beef in olive oil, add cubed steak once meat is brown add cayenne pepper, ¼ cup bourbon and bacon. Remove meat and set aside.
  2. Use juices from meats to cook chopped onion and green pepper. Add garlic, butt rub, oregano and chipotle pepper.
  3. Add meat back in, add tomatoes, beans, basil, remainder of bourbon and brown sugar and a pinch of salt to taste. Simmer for 1 hour and enjoy
