The secret to the "perfect" burger isn't in the seasoning; it's in the beef! At Whole Foods Market, our hamburger meat is ground fresh, butcher-style in each store. We select only muscle meat and follow strict handling guidelines to ensure its quality. The best beef makes the best burgers!
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 8 small buns
  • 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 leaves romaine or green leaf lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1/4 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Method:
Prepare a grill for medium-heat cooking. Divide and gently shape the meat into 8 small patties. Season with salt and pepper. Grill meat to desired doneness, about 4 minutes per side for medium.

Meanwhile, brush buns with olive oil and grill just until lightly toasted, about 1 minute. Dress burgers with lettuce, tomatoes and onions and serve.
