You control the flavor and spice in these simple baked beans by choosing your favorite bottled barbecue sauce. Canned pinto beans (navy or great northern work well too) make these a breeze to prepare. For an extra kick, toss some sliced jalapeño peppers or red chile flakes into the sauce while cooking.
Mix ketchup, barbecue sauce, 1/2 cup water, Worcestershire sauce, honey, mustard and salt together in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes to thicken. Stir in beans. Transfer to a casserole dish and bake uncovered for 1 hour.
