Jordan Richardson, Healthy Eating Specialist

Whole Foods Market, Highlands Ranch and South Glenn stores, Rocky Mountain Region

Jordan Richardson
What does your job title mean?

I have the opportunity to support customers and Team Members in their healthy eating, lifestyle and culinary endeavors!

What was your path to Whole Foods Market?

I have a passion for and background in nutrition, with an undergraduate degree in Dietetics from James Madison University in Virginia. After graduating I spent time in the Florida Keys working at a high adventure camp where I was able to develop leadership skills and patience. After my tour of the keys, I committed to a year of service as an AmeriCorps Member where I served as a “Nutrition Educator” for “Harvesters: The Community Food Network.” After a year of service I wanted to spread my wings and began searching specifically for “Healthy Eating Specialist” positions. I joined Whole Foods Market in January, 2013 and each day has been a learning experience and adventure.

A Day in the Life

You may find me cooking up some delicious food in the kitchen, executing a demo on the sales floor, promoting and teaching customer and Team Member classes regarding Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs), healthy eating or cooking basics, or visiting local schools and teaching kids about the importance of where our food comes from and how it affects our bodies. Each day is different!

A recent, memorable day

I was asked to judge a healthy snack contest at a local school. I was able to talk to the young contestants about their creations and how they chose their healthy ingredients and recipes. Being able to have conversations surrounding food always sticks out in my mind because it gives us the ability to make choices about how we fuel our bodies.

What do you like best about working at Whole Foods Market?

I love the culture and the ability to think creatively. I think Whole Foods Market encourages Team Members to strive for innovation. I love seeing someone’s idea turned into reality!

What advice do you have for people considering joining the Whole Foods Market team?

Be yourself, show your strengths, and shine brightly.
