Whole Kids Foundation® is dedicated to helping kids eat better—and enjoy it! Visit their website for information on how they support schools and inspire families to improve children’s nutrition and wellness.

It’s no secret that parents like to snap photos of their kids at every turn, from their spaghetti sauce-covered smiles to their freshly washed faces on the first day of school and everything in between. And we’re glad! We love seeing these happy moments.

Whole Kids Foundation is calling all photo happy moms, pops, nanas, grandpas, aunties and uncles to participate in our Earth Month photo contest on Facebook. We want to see how your family celebrates our wonderful planet.

Every week during April — Earth Month — is a new theme and a new chance to enter and win.

April 1 – 6:     Week 1 Theme – Kids Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

April 7 – 13:   Week 2 Theme – Kids in the Garden

April 14 – 20: Week 3 Theme – Kids in the Kitchen

April 21 – 27: Week 4 Theme – Kids at Play in Nature

After each week, Facebook fans will vote for a weekly winner. These weekly winners will be rewarded with a gift basket from Whole Kids Foundation partners like Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day, lug and many more. At the end of the month three grand prize winners will be selected to receive the following:

1st Prize - $250 gift card to Whole Foods Market + a gift basket from our partners

2nd Prize - $150 gift card to Whole Foods Market + a gift basket from our partners

3rd Prize - $100 gift card to Whole Foods Market + a gift basket from our partners

Are High Schoolers kids? I am have an amazing group of kids that volunteer at our garden every saturday for 4 hours, we bird count, tag butterflies, build osprey platforms and have a wonderful time...just wanting to know if you think my 17 year olds are kids :)

@LORI - I didn't notice an age limit to the term "kid" so I say go for it! We love kiddos of all ages being involved!

I would like to know more about the foundation grants for gardens. My grandson, Wyatt Joyce, is so interested in growing plants, food, etc., and received permission to start a garden club at his high school. He is in 10th grade, in Mission Viejo, CA. He has been trying to raise funds to make a garden. The school has allotted the club a plot of land, but it does not have water access and whatever is needed to make the garden grow. Is there a possibility to apply for a grant? Please let me know. Sincerely yours, Theresa Delaney, proud grandma in Fresno, CA.
