We wait all year for satsumas. Combination of satsumas, texas red grapefruits and cara cara orages is one of the best side dishes I know. Goes with everything.

Tough call... I love the Clementine seeing it's easier to find, but the harder-to-locate Satsuma is the king of the two in my book. The flavor trumps the clementine, and the richer oils in the peel make it great for zesting for desserts and cocktails. I wish I could find the Satsuma in more places seeing the Whole Foods in Nashville ain't in easy driving distance unlike the ones back home in Rhode Island. Still, I love going there. Whole Foods DEFINITELY trumps Kroger, Publix, etc. in the 'Best Supermarket' contest!

I love all things citrus.... so this was a difficult choice. I am going to have to say Clementines for their juicy sweetness. I have used a Satsuma Oil from The Body Shop for years so even though I chose the Clementine, both little beauty's can feel loved!

Always had clementines in our stockings as kids. It isn't Christmas without them.

Satsumas are my citrus champion because they're a double threat- sweet on the inside, useful tasty peel on the outside.

Satsumas are the best. I have a few every morning for breakfast. Sharper and more flavorful then clementines. Great in salads and the zest makes a great garnish.

Two words: clementine marmalade. One of the most delicious things I've ever made - and it was a very popular holiday gift for my friends!

We LOVE clementines! So sweet and easy to peel. My husband is a diabetic and likes to carry a clementine or so in his pocket. When he feels like his sugar is dropping, he simply peels it and eats! Instant (temporary) fix! Clementines have a longer season, so he likes them better.

I love clementines and how easy they are to tote along with me. I love to stash a few in the car so that we always have a healthy snack at the ready in these colder autumn days. I also put one in my pocket running out the door in the morning when I drive my daughter to school, and give one to her & my son. Such an energy ball of citrus! One of my favorite cold weather fruits! We go through a couple of those crates a week!

These are the best critus wonders. Different sizes and the look so unique. The suprise is when you peel them and the unbelievable sweet taste. The peel almost comes off by itself. Tried Satsumas beginning of Dec at the Rockville store. The big display caught my eye the price scared me seemed expensive, I purchased 2 to try. I am now leaving to refill my house. Everyone who has one wants more. They almost melt in your mouth, no seeds and the membrain disappears to sweet delicioius wonderment. I have not found them at any other market in my area. I hope they have a long season. Thanks

I love satsumas. My in laws live in Long Beach, California, and when I was pregnant with my daughter I ate most of the satsuma crop from the tree in their back yard. Being able to go out in the back yard to pick oranges, satsumas, loquats and Meyer lemons seems like such a treat to me, a native of Wisconsin!
