How a Seed Grows

The heat is on! Time to get planting, cooking, and enjoying summer vacation. Whole Kids Foundation® has loads of cool ideas to help you and the kids do just that, including tips on how to make your garden grow and how to navigate those bulk bins at Whole Foods Market®. (And shhhhh, don't tell the kids, but they'll learn a little something, too)

Plant a Seed, Watch it Grow

This month's Kids Book Club story is How a Seed Grows by Helene J. Jordan. Easy-to-understand words and illustrations show kids the life cycle of a seed and how soil, water, sun and care help it to grow properly.

Together with our partner Jumpstart, Whole Kids Foundation offers extra enrichment with seed development tips, fun, hands-on activities, and good questions to discuss with the kids in our activity guide.

Adventures in Health (and Savings)

It's packed with shapes, sizes, colors, textures and flavors. What is it? Whole Foods Market's bulk department! This month's edition of Better Bites shows you and your family how all of those qualities can come together to cook up delicious, nutritious meals on a budet AND provide fun for the kids.

Better Bites has simple recipes, along with tips on how to include the kids when you shop in the bulk department. After all, when kids help pick their meals they’re more likely to want to help prepare and eat them.
