Warm Stories Of Cold Hard Cash

Dark Rye is the Whole Foods Market mixtape — raucous and always delicious — and hey! We’re on TV! Dark Rye airs on pivot on Wednesdays at 9:30pm ET / 6:30pm PT and guess who’s our airwaves-neighbor? It’s Joseph Gordon-Levitt, actor-turned-curator, producer, and TV-land adventurer…

Gandhi said it’ll spoil you to have wealth without work or pleasure without conscience — but then ye old dog Oscar Wilde said that anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination. So which is it, sage forefathers?

Do we scrimp and save, or spend big? You can’t take it with you when you die, after all — isn’t a shruggy, ‘it-comes-and-goes’ attitude better than the high blood pressure of worrying that there’s never enough money?

On this week’s HITRECORD ON TV, Joseph Gordon-Levitt brings everyday bean counters, piggy-bankers, gamblers and loan sharks to share their money secrets and stories—the case for making it, keeping it, spending it and saving it. Reconciling financial savvy, sanity, and soul — it would seem — is all a matter of when and how to do it all.

Joseph’s HITRECORD ON TV jingles along tomorrow night with the episode “RE: MONEY.”  That’s Saturday, February 22 at 10PM ET / 7PM PT. Check with your local cable provider to find out if you get pivot or visit getpivot.tv.

HITRECORD ON TV’s episode RE: MONEY opens with a music video about falling in love with money, continues with a cartoon about money’s origin and closes with a short film exposing how greed can affect family dynamics.

Tune in on Saturday night only on pivot!

HITRECORD ON TV is a new take on the variety show, hosted by Joseph Gordon-Levitt who directs countless artists from his global online community — HITRECORD — to create short films, live performances, music, animation, conversation, and of course, more!  Each episode focuses on a different theme as Joe invites and encourages anybody with an internet connection to join him and contribute.  Are you RECording?
